Dr. Alexandra N. Rawlinson

Dr. Alexandra Rawlinson is a native of Northern California, where she was born and raised in the small town of Danville. After graduating from San Ramon Valley High School, Dr. Rawlinson attended the University of California, Davis where she dedicated the next 5 years as an NCAA Division I student-athlete competing on the Women's Water Polo team. In addition to athletics, she balanced internships at local optometry offices, volunteered in the community on various projects including preparing meals for the homeless and building affordable housing with Habitat for Humanity while earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Rawlinson attended Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry in Southern California. She was awarded Student Fellowship as a first-year student, was elected liaison for the American Academy of Optometry in her third year and was nominated as a member of student government all four years. With a passion for helping others, Dr. Rawlinson participated in vision screenings at elementary schools, churches and the Special Olympics. Dr. Rawlinson completed her externships at the Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX and with the VA Healthcare System at Medical Centers located in Orlando, FL, Columbia, SC and Tulsa, OK. During her clinical rotations, she provided eye care for veterans, active duty military and their dependents, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, routine vision, contact lenses and co-management of laser refractive surgery. Dr. Rawlinson is Board Certified in the state of Texas and is a member of both the Texas and American Optometric Associations. Dr. Rawlinson loves West Texas, calling it her "dream" to live in Lubbock forever. When patients ask what brought her all the way from beautiful, sunny California to dry, dusty West Texas she simply replies, "the wind blew me." Dr. Rawlinson and her fiancé Dr. Ben Kasl, a dairy nutritionist, veterinarian, and Texas Tech alumni enjoy spending time with family, friends, and Ford, their Airedale Terrier puppy

Dr. Amanda J. Brown

Dr. Amanda J. Brown is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. Dr. Brown was born and raised in Connersville Indiana and attended undergrad at Indiana University where she earned a bachelor's of science degree in Nutrition Science. She then attended the University of Houston School of Optometry in 2008. Dr. Brown then proceeded to work in a private practice in the Houston area for ten years with emphasis in medically based optometry focusing on both glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Brown also takes a whole body approach to treating eye disease given her background in nutrition. Dr. Brown is happily married and has two children, twins actually. They are one of the reasons she moved out to west Texas for the great schools and environment to raise children. In addition to a husband and twins, Dr. Brown also enjoys spending time outdoors with her three dogs and home improvement projects and crafting such as stained glass, crochet, and pottery in her free time.

Dr. Kelly D. Fallin

Dr. Kelly Fallin is a therapeutic optometrist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, routine vision and eye health care, contact lenses and laser refractive surgery consultation. He was born in Nacogdoches, Texas and raised in East Texas. Dr. Fallin first came to West Texas to attend Texas Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then continued his studies at the University of Houston College of Optometry where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and received numerous awards in clinical patient care and academics including membership of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society for four years. Dr. Fallin began working with Drs. Reber and Riley as an extern. He received additional training in private practice optometry in Carthage, Texas as well as serving as an on-call physician in emergency room eye care at East Texas Medical Center. Dr. Fallin is an active member in the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and is currently serving as the Vice President of the South Plains Optometric Association. He has volunteered in multiple charity organizations including participating in Relay for Life, Race for the Cure and the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Fallin is excited to be back in Lubbock serving the people of the greater South Plains area that make this place so special. His hobbies include attending Texas Tech sporting events, boating, skiing and traveling.

Dr. Leigh Alexander

Dr. Leigh Alexander is the newest doctor at The Vision Center. She was born and raised in Lubbock, TX. After graduating from Coronado High School, Dr. Alexander attended The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Human Development and Family Sciences. During her last semester of undergraduate education, she completed an internship at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Dr. Alexander attended University of Houston College of Optometry. She received a Clinical Letter of Excellence and was elected to the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Alexander completed her externships at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, and Hope Community Clinic in Houston, TX, where she provided eye care for refugees as well as Hurricane Harvey victims. Dr. Alexander has experience in performing anterior segment laser surgeries, co-managing pre and post operative cataract surgeries, and is Board Certified in the state of Texas. She is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr Alexander is passionate in patient education and strives to ensure her patients understand the visual system in order to provide the utmost patient care. Dr. Alexander spends most of her free time with her friends, family, and fur babies. She enjoys anything outdoors and staying active.

Dr. Lorenzo Anderson

Dr. Lorenzo Anderson is a recent addition to The Vision Center. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science with Honors. He then graduated with a Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston where he conducted anatomical research at the Texas Eye Research and Technology Center with Dr. Jan Bergmanson. Dr. Anderson served as National Liaison with the American Optometric Association, Contact Lens Ambassador with Johnson and Johnson, and was awarded Student of the Year in his first year of optometry school. He has a passion for specialty contact lenses and is committed to finding creative ways to provide personalized care for every patient. Dr. Anderson has obtained many specialty contact lens certifications and additional training with gas permeable lenses, scleral lenses, orthokeratology lenses, and myopia control. In addition, he has presented research at the Specialty Lens Symposium and the American Academy of Optometry. In his spare time, Dr. Anderson loves to be outdoors with friends and family, volunteering, and exploring cities by food.

Dr. Nolan C. Riley

After graduating from Northeastern University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2006, Dr. Riley joined the team at The Vision Center. He holds the highest level of licensure to practice optometry granted by the Texas Optometry Board. While completing his educational requirements at Northeastern State University, he was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award. He also received the Student of the Year award in 2004, served on the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometry Honor Society for four years as well as many others. He is the only Developmental Optometrist serving the panhandle, West Texas and Eastern New Mexico, treating patients, especially school-aged children, with vision therapy for learning conditions. Dr. Riley volunteered his services during Hurricane Katrina providing eye exams for evacuees at Camp Gruber, OK. He has also participating in a AMOR Mission to Brazil and coached teams for the Special Olympics. He received the Texas Optometric Association Young OD of the year award for 2016.

Dr. R. Randall Reber

Dr. Randy Reber, opened The Vision Center in Lubbock in 1990. Dr Reber attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, he then attended the University of Houston, College of Optometry. Following graduation, he served 4 years in the U.S. Public Health Service and was a Commissioned Officer with the Indian Health Service. Dr. Randy Reber, opened The Vision Center in Lubbock in 1990. Dr Reber attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, he then attended the University of Houston, College of Optometry. Following graduation, he served 4 years in the U.S. Public Health Service and was a Commissioned Officer with the Indian Health Service. Dr Reber is Board Certified with the American Board of Optometry. He is a member of the South Plains Optometric Society, the Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. He also served as a Clinical Examiner with the National Board of Optometry. He has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the University of Houston, College of Optometry where he taught 4th year optometry students as part of their clinical rotations. Randy enjoys all aspects of being an Optometrist. He is proficient in the diagnosis, management and treatment of complex vision problems. He enjoys comprehensive medical management of eye problems and examination. Dr. Reber spends most of his time with his family; his wife Susan, sons Ryan & his wife, Lynsey and Drew, and 2 grandchildren.

Dr. Shelby Zak

Dr. Shelby Zak is a therapeutic optometrist proudly serving as the newest addition in The Vision Center's expansion to the DFW area. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. She continued at the University of Houston College of Optometry where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with multiple Letters of Excellence for her clinical work and honors including the Excellence in Optics award and membership in Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society for all four years. Dr. Zak has a passion for working with children and special needs patients. She spent several years volunteering at the Beeping Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Alström Angels as well as the Burkhart Walk for Autism Awareness during her years in undergrad in Lubbock, TX. She also enjoys participating in World Sight Day where she has partnered with Alcon to provide free eye health screenings at the Texas State Fair. Additionally, Dr. Zak is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and spending quality time with her family.
