Dan Prentiss

Dan Prentiss has been practicing civil litigation for more than 30 years. He has represented clients in cases in Massachusetts, New Jersey, California, and Texas, as well as Rhode Island. In addition to trial work, he has briefed and argued cases before the Supreme Court of Rhode Island, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and the United States Courts of Appeal for the first, third, and fifth circuits. Mr. Prentiss has litigated matters in many fields, including environmental permitting, contract disputes, products liablility, trade secrets and intellectual property, trusts and estates, public utilities regulation, professional malpractice, lender liability, and civil rights. Dan received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Brown University in 1969, where he was named a Francis Wayland scholar, and was elected to the Tau Beta Pi and Sigma XI Honorary Societies. He received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1973. Dan is a member of the National Board of Directors of the American Board of Trial Advocates, is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and is listed in Naifeh & Smith, The Best Lawyers in America.
