As the Fleet and Facilities Coordinator at the Fire Department, my role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of essential resources. I hold the responsibility of overseeing all aspects related to fleet and facilities management. This includes scheduling and coordinating major repairs for our fleet of vehicles, as well as maintaining the buildings and grounds associated with the fire department. Additionally, I play a key role in coordinating the annual maintenance of all District apparatus, ensuring that our equipment remains in optimal condition. The maintenance of the District's station is also within my purview, contributing to the overall efficiency and readiness of our firefighting operations. In essence, my position involves a comprehensive approach to the upkeep and functionality of both the physical infrastructure and vehicular assets critical to the Fire Department's mission.

Our Administrative Specialist supports the department's essential functions and operations. Gina wears many hats in assisting the Fire Chief, Director of Administration, HR Manager, and Staff. Her days often look different, from coordination of travel and training to preparing and involvement with Board Meetings, accounts payable, project management, troubleshooting, and, some days, even watching the stray dogs that the Firefighters pick up.

Lucy's days are fluid; she must remain adaptable to handle unexpected challenges while focusing on daily responsibilities.

As the Training Chief my role is centered on enhancing the knowledge, skills, and preparedness of our firefighting personnel. I am responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs that ensure our firefighters are well-equipped to handle a diverse range of emergency situations. This involves designing and conducting drills, simulations, and educational sessions to hone their firefighting techniques, rescue procedures, and emergency response capabilities. I collaborate closely with other department leaders to identify training needs and adapt programs to evolving industry standards and best practices. Additionally, I play a role in evaluating the performance of our firefighters during training exercises, providing constructive feedback, and continually refining our training curriculum to align with the dynamic demands of the firefighting profession. Ultimately, as the Training Chief, my focus is on fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in the skill set and readiness of our dedicated firefighting personnel.

Stephanie Cooke

Stephanie is responsible for and works with the County Assessor to develop the Fire Department's Budget, financial management of the Department, payroll, and accounting, and is the representative of Platte Valley for all incidents. Stephanie has been with the Department for 14 years and is the brains behind the operation!
