PRODUCER'S REALTY

We've had lots of comments and questions on new company name so I thought it might be fun to share the story and family history behind it... In 1936, Edna (Steckman) Hettinger, my grandmother, purchased 10 acres in Garden City, by what is now the Double Tree Riverside at Chinden and Fairview. Three years later, she and my Grandpa, Lawrence, decided to start a lumber company. Edna coined the phrase "from producers to consumers" and "Producers Lumber Company" was born... Producers did a robust business, selling all the lumber that the nearby Stunz Lumber Company (later Boise Cascade mill in Horseshoe Bend) could manufacture. Grandpa expanded the business by opening a second site in Salt Lake City in 1960. He also built a sawmill at the Hettinger Ranch (near Warren, Idaho). Producers Lumber continued until Grandpa sold in 1967.
