Dr Michael Klaassen

Dr. Michael Klaassen's Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery career spans over three decades. In 2023, he was awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit in recognition of his dedication to plastic and reconstructive surgery. Throughout his career, he has not only treated countless patients but has also actively contributed to the academic side of the profession, authoring research papers, books, and developing products aimed at enhancing surgical outcomes. He is passion for supporting the plastic surgery discipline has seen him develop an Advanced Course in Breast Reduction Surgery, undertake examiner responsibilities for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, co-convene the Pacific Islands Surgeons Flap Course at the University of Tasmania, and hold the position of Director of Surgical Skills at the University of Auckland's Advanced Clinical Skills Centre. In addition to his own work in private practice, Dr. Klaassen has volunteer internationally with Interplast, a non-profit organisation providing life-changing surgery in Asia Pacific regions with limited or non-existent access to quality surgical care. Dr Klaassen brings his his vast experience in various aspects of plastic surgery, including skin cancer management, to the Queensland Plastic Rooms on a monthly basis.

Dr. Mark Vucak

Dr Mark Vucak has been working as a private Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon for 30-years, opening Queensland Plastic Surgery 1994. During this time, he's performed over 35,000 procedures, including more than 5,000 Breast Augmentations. Outside of the hospital theatre, Dr Vucak is a proud father, an avid chess player, and likes to stay active through kayaking, having represented Australia in the World Championships for canoeing during his time at university.
