Lauri Bausch

Lauri was born and raised in Washington County but has spent most of 2003-2020 as a modern day vagabond. She graduated from UW Eau Claire with a degree in Kinesiology. She even surprised herself to complete her college coursework in 4 years as on multiple occasions she left the country for several months at a time to play or coach rugby. An opportunity to work as a Strength Coach at the US Olympic Training center in 2008 threw her career intentions off course. Trainer to the US Bobsled & Skeleton team at that time, what was meant to be a "try it once" sort situation turned in to a several year career traveling internationally and competing for the US National skeleton team in pursuit of the 2022 Olympics. A hamstring tendon tear during Team Trials in October 2019 curbed her ability to be competitive at the start and entering the next season she was invited to join the coaching staff which she still maintains today. She has had the opportunity to coach on 3 of the 4 international race circuits, two Youth Olympics, coached Ghana at the 2018 Olympics while collaborating with her US colleagues, and has assisted many other nations as well. She has mastered the art of thrifty travel and has been to almost as many countries as her years in age. Lauri began working at J.R. Boehlke, then Pro-Coat & Pro-Enterprises, in 2010. As the peak season for landscaping and pavement services were a near-perfect alignment with her offseason, it created an ideal situation for seasonal employment. She left Wisconsin for 3 summers to give other locations a try, and found herself back in Wisconsin March 2020 to be closer to family and return to work as the Office Manager at J.R. Boehlke. She finally has one foot on the ground as a first time home owner in Mequon, but she plans to keep her passion for sport and travel alive by coaching throughout the winter and returning to Mequon on her off weeks as she for the first time in her adult life calls one place "home".
