Frank Quintero, Jr., managing shareholder of Quintero Broche, P.A., primarily concentrates his practice in the areas of white-collar, corporate, healthcare fraud, and complex criminal defense cases. Mr. Quintero has consistently been recognized as one of Florida and the Nation's Top Criminal Defense Attorneys, and has over thirty (30) years' experience in litigation.
Mr. Quintero was born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida. Mr. Quintero graduated from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami, Florida in 1976. Mr. Quintero went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from the University of Miami in 1979 and his Juris Doctorate degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois in 1983. During his time as a student at The John Marshall Law School, Mr. Quintero has the distinction of being the only Hispanic student to ever be elected and serve as vice-president of the Law School, in the University's over century year old history. Since his admission to the Illinois State Bar (1983) and the Florida Bar (1984), Mr. Quintero has handled numerous high profile complex Federal and State cases ranging from drug offenses to multi-million dollar health care fraud cases.
Mr. Quintero's more recent successes include the following: obtaining an acquittal after a jury trial in United States v. Angel Rodriguez, where the defendant was charged with multiple healthcare fraud related offenses; in United States v. Lazaro Collazo (the Biogenesis Federal prosecution), Mr. Quintero secured a dismissal of the Indictment by the Government and the filing of misdemeanor charges against his client resulting in the imposition of a probationary sentence; obtaining a complete dismissal of the Indictment against the defendant in United States v. Joao Malago in a multi-agency drug and money-laundering prosecution; in United States v. Keilen Fife, Mr. Quintero obtained a probationary sentence for a defendant involved in a multi-million dollar Medicare fraud prosecution; securing a below-guidelines sentence in United States v. Crawford, amounting to an over 60% downward departure/variance, for a defendant enhanced under the Career Criminal Offender statute; attaining a complete retraction from the City of Miami Commission in connection with their filing of a resolution naming Mr. Quintero's client as "persona non-grata;" and obtaining a substantial settlement on behalf of a client against one of the Nation's largest financial institutions in connection with a development dispute.
Mr. Quintero, with more than three decades of experience as a high profile criminal defense attorney has been consistently honored as one of the Top Criminal Defense Attorneys in Florida and the Nation. Through his time practicing law, Mr. Quintero has been recognized as an outstanding criminal defense attorney from some of the most prominent publications. Jessica Fonseca-Nader recently joined the law firm of Quintero Broche as head of the firm's appellate division after almost 20 years in higher education. She focuses her practice on criminal and civil pretrial and appellate matters. Most recently, Ms. Fonseca-Nader served as the Dean for Enrollment and Scholarships at St. Thomas University College of Law where she oversaw the College of Law's enrollment and taught Appellate Advocacy, a Moral Dilemmas Seminar, and assisted the Academic Success and Bar Prep teams.
Ms. Fonseca-Nader began her legal career as an Associate with the law firm of Bunnell Woulfe Kirshbaum and Birnbaum where she handled pre-suit strategies and appellate matters. Ms. Fonseca-Nader then joined the Third District Court of Appeal as Senior Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable David L. Levy until his retirement. She then served as Senior Law Clerk to the Honorable Barbara Lagoa. In these roles, she was exposed to a wide variety of cases arising under many different practice areas. This experience gave her a unique insight into effective legal writing, oral advocacy, and appellate strategies.
During her time at the court, Ms. Fonseca-Nader was an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University School of Law. Ms. Fonseca-Nader later joined the full-time faculty at St. Thomas University School of Law as a Professor of Legal Writing where she taught Legal Research and Writing, Advanced Legal Research and Writing, Legal Research Bootcamp-State and Federal, and the Moral Dilemmas Seminar. While a member the faculty at St. Thomas University School of Law, Ms. Fonseca-Nader served as special counsel to Black Srebnick Kornspan & Stumpf where she worked on several large, multi-party commercial cases through the appellate process.
Ms. Fonseca-Nader earned her bachelor's degree from Nova Southeastern University and her law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law. Ms. Fonseca-Nader was Editor-In-Chief of the St. Thomas Law Review and participated in the Appellate Litigation Clinic, where she argued several criminal cases before the Third District Court of Appeal.
Juan Pablo ("J.P.") Broche, Shareholder of Quintero Broche, P.A., handles criminal, civil, and administrative litigation matters for the Firm. Since joining the firm, he has dedicated himself to expanding the firm's civil litigation sector to include representation of clients in the areas of personal injury, medical negligence, commercial litigation, corporate/partnership litigation, real estate litigation, corporate dissolution, civil theft, condominium negligence/liability.
Mr. Broche, a Miami native, graduated Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in 2001 and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Miami in 2005. While attending the University of Miami, Mr. Broche was an Associate Chief Justice for the University's Supreme Court, Justice of the Judicial Board for the Interfraternity Council, member of the Mortar Board Senior Honor Society, and Vice-President of Programming for his Fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. Upon receiving his Bachelor's Degree, Mr. Broche attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. While a student at Suffolk Law, Mr. Broche was a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and Latin American Law Student's Association. Mr. Broche interned for the Housing Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services before joining Frank Quintero, Jr., P.A. as a summer law clerk in 2007. Upon earning his Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk Law and admission to the Florida Bar in 2008, Mr. Broche began his legal career as an associate with Mr. Quintero. In August 2013, Mr. Broche became a named Shareholder of the Firm.
Mr. Broche represents clients charged with felony, misdemeanor, and traffic offenses at both the Federal and State levels. Mr. Broche prides himself on a thorough, comprehensive approach to his representation of clients from pre-arrest through trial, as well as through criminal forfeiture, post-conviction, and appellate proceedings. Along with the other members of the firm, Mr. Broche has litigated extensively before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida in cases involving narcotics, money laundering, firearms, and white collar/fraud related offenses. In the course of his career, Mr. Broche has also distinguished himself and achieved numerous successful results in DUI cases (both in administrative proceedings before the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and in connection with the criminal prosecution of such offenses).
Mr. Broche has also managed and expanded the Firm's civil litigation practice since joining the Firm in 2008. Throughout his career, Mr. Broche has achieved successful results for Firm clients in a multitude of different types of matters, including but not limited to, personal injury and/or medical negligence claims, business torts, actions against condominium associations, commercial disputes, partnership/joint-venture disputes, corporate dissolutions, real estate disputes, and civil forfeiture actions. Furthermore, Mr. Broche has considerable experience representing licensed professionals, such as medical providers (clinics, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc.), realtors, property managers, and other regulated professionals, in administrative audits, investigations, and dis ciplinary proceedings. Mr. Broche continues to maintain a diverse caseload while ensuring the utmost attention to detail and zealous advocacy to each client's case.
