At Mason, I direct the Alignment lab (or 'A-lab'). Research in the A-lab aims at bridging the gap between the humans' mental models and the way that AI works by designing novel tools and establishing theories in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer-supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). Our ultimate mission is to improve the way in which people interact with AI to derive better insights and decisions using data than the current practices allow.
