Aaron Owens

Aaron Owens is a Tyler, TX native through and through. In addition to being a certified Optician for almost 20 years, Aaron is a handy carpenter, sings at church and occasionally on recording, and enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing. Melody Roberts spends most of her time with her four children and nine grandchildren-she says "family is my thing." She enjoys remodeling and redecorating, so her look is always fresh! She's been an optician for 30 years and doesn't really enjoy the outdoors; "air conditioning and I are good friends."

Dr. David M. Johnson

Dr. David M. Johnson completed his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Houston in 2008. During his training, he spent two years of his clinical training in Neuro-Ophthalmology, and his last year in training with two doctors in Dallas, TX that are considered by their colleagues as pioneers in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery. After graduation, he was licensed by Texas Optometry Board in July 2008 as a Therapeutic Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, and served as Clinical/Surgery Director with one of the largest Optometry and Ophthalmology providers in the state of Texas, as well as the exclusive eyecare provider of Johnson Space Center (NASA). While serving in this role, he provided comprehensive patient care specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, contact lenses, laser refractive surgery consultation (LASIK, PRK), cataract surgery consultation, and corneal transplant post-operative care. Dr. Johnson has also served as an adjunct professor in which he helped train interns in their final year of training from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He also trained ophthalmology residents from The University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston as they learned to perform LASIK and PRK surgery. During his tenure in this position, he also served as a clinical investigator for various ocular pharmaceuticals seeking approval by the FDA. Dr. Johnson has been the primary eyecare provider at RMO Eyecare since Spring 2020.

Jan Carroll

Jan Carroll has lived more than most people could in 10 lifetimes. Originally from Iroquois, South Dakota, Jan has traveled the world with her husband's magician show and worked at least a dozen different unique jobs. Now a certified optician for more than eight years, Jan also likes working with flowers and signing in her church choir.

Kayla Garza

Kayla is a Georgia peach transplant who moved to East Texas to be closer to family. She's a huge University of Georgia fan (Go Dawgs!) and she has a French bulldog named Loki. You may have guess based on Loki's name that Kayla is a big Marvel fan. And, believe it or not, she loves to clean!

Kimberly Weldon

Originally from Amarillo, Kimberly Weldon has been a certified Optician for 15 years. She has a beautiful adopted daughter with whom she spends most of her time. Before becoming a mom, she never knew how much fun silly puddy could be! She and her daughter also LOVE roller coasters.

Lee Torres

Originally from Dallas, Lee Torres has been in Tyler for nearly 20 years, most of which as a certified Optician after graduating from TJC's vision care program. Lee is a retired soccer player, current Spartan racer, and HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan.

Michael W. Martin - President

Mike Martin, Jr. is a certified optician and fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry. Mike was born and raised in Tyler, TX and grew up in the eyewear business that his father, Mike Martin, Sr., co-founded: Ragsdale & Martin Optical. Mike is an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as an expert in Essilor lenses and Italian acetate frames. Originally from Jacksonville, TX, Renea Caldwell has been a certified optician for more than 40 years. She's a "cool grandma" and loves baseball-she's a big Yankees fan. In her spare time, she loves to go camping at Yogi Bear Park in Tyler and she is a believer in the magic of air fryers.
