RED MANSE FARM

Our farm has been continuously farmed for over 240 years, having been settled by the Bachelder family in the 1760's. The farm is generally recognized as one of the oldest homesteads in the Town of Loudon, located at the junction of the Stage Road (now NH Rt. 129,) and the Pittsfield Road. During the 19 th century, the existing farm house contained the Loudon Center Post Office; neighboring houses were once a school and a parsonage. Until Albert Bachelder passed away in 1993, the farm had the distinction of being a Bicentennial Farm, as it had been continuously farmed by one family since prior to the American Revolution... Since 2005, the farm has been owned by Earl and Alice Tuson, growing a wide range of organic produce for the public. Certified organic since 2007, farming is Earl's sole occupation, with a good deal of assistance from our three young children.
