Ben Satterfield

At Regatta Capital Group, Ben serves as a Financial Advisor dedicated to developing a deep understanding of his clients' financial objectives. In this role he constructs and presents detailed financial strategies while collaborating with clients to implement tailored solutions that help them achieve their personalized goals. Prior to joining Regatta Capital Group, Ben held the role of Senior Vice President at Griffin Capital in Los Angeles. In this position he gained extensive knowledge of core institutional real estate funds spanning sectors such as multifamily, office, industrial, retail, specialty, and hospitality. He also worked on private placements of real estate development funds focused on growth as well as tax-efficient strategies like 1031 exchanges and Qualified Opportunity Zones. Before moving to Los Angeles and joining Griffin Capital in 2015 he spent 10 years in Phoenix, Arizona where he held similar roles with Cole Real Estate Investments and MFS, who famously invented the mutual fund. Ben began his career in the financial industry in 2006 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Business with concentrations in Finance, Economics, and Accounting from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In 2022, Ben and his family relocated to Sandy, Utah. He resides there with his wife, Domina, and their three young daughters - Evania, Persephone, and their newest addition, Ophelia. He has embraced the opportunity to develop his skiing skills and the family enjoys traveling when possible, often visiting their extended family in Ohio. Staying true to his roots, Ben can be found cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals on weekends during the fall football season.

Britt Joyce

Britt is a Managing Partner, Financial Advisor, Director of Endowments & Foundations, and the CO-Chief Investment Officer. Britt has been managing and analyzing clients' investments since joining the industry in 2003. After Britt spent many years managing investments for many of the country's largest institutional clients, he was eager to start providing his services to local business owners, physicians, and private families. He provides comprehensive financial planning and wealth management services. He puts his analytical experience, Columbia MBA, CFP® and CFA training to good use in evaluating investments, constructing portfolios, and doing financial planning for our clients. This background also makes him particularly well qualified to address some of the unique challenges faced by endowments, foundations and the people who oversee these nonprofits. Britt's roots run deep in the South Bay having grown up in Manhattan Beach and gone to Mira Costa High School. He lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife and two daughters. He is a board member for Growing Great and he supports other local organizations including the P.S. I Love You Foundation and the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation. When he isn't working or enjoying the South Bay lifestyle with his family, you can find him surfing in Manhattan Beach or running (rather slowly) with friends.

Chloe (Barnett) Mithal

Chloe grew up in Northern California and graduated from The Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University with a B.B.A. in Finance with a Real Estate Concentration. Chloe is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ at Regatta Capital Group, where she creates holistic financial plans for her clients. Chloe is passionate about financial literacy. ESG, cybersecurity, and real estate are some of the investment sectors that spark her interest. More than anything, Chloe cares about connecting with her clients by understanding their backgrounds and ideals so that she can empower them with a plan to reach their short and long-term goals. In her spare time, Chloe enjoys finding herself in nature by going on long hikes. She loves traveling, playing the ukulele, and spending quality time with friends and family. Chloe is an animal person, and her world currently revolves around her two sphynx cats, Kiwi and Cosmos.

Ellen Himmel

Ellen is a Financial Advisor and Branch Manager of our Brentwood office. She joined Regatta Capital Group in November 2016. Ellen graduated with a BA in psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and earned a JD from the University of San Diego. She practiced law for approximately 20 years in California, Ohio, and Washington with a focus on corporate and securities law and mergers and acquisitions. Ellen moved to Los Angeles when her daughter was young to be closer to her extended family. Ellen worked with her father in his tax preparation practice and eventually assumed full responsibility for the business. Recognizing a need to better and more fully serve her clients by providing financial advice in conjunction with tax advice, Ellen became a Financial Advisor. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with her daughter Sophie and friends. They live with their dog, Lucy in Brentwood.

Erika Jenkins

Erika Jenkins joined Regatta Capital Group in 2017 as the Controller and Director of Tax Strategy. She worked as an auditor for Deloitte Philippines and was a US tax preparer for several years prior to joining Regatta. Realizing from the get-go that achieving financial goals does not often come without tax consequences, she has added the title of Financial Planner in her current role. As such, she uses her expertise in helping clients come up with a financial plan that is feasible and tax efficient. She keeps up with the ever-changing tax landscape by continually attending seminars and training. While she doesn't prepare taxes for clients, they are free to reach out to her if they have any tax questions of their own. As a Controller, she is in charge of Regatta's accounting functions and heads a team of two in managing the books. Erika graduated in 2005 with a BS in Accountancy from St. Scholastica's College in Manila and is an active California CPA. She lives in Torrance with her family and is kept on her toes daily by her two rambunctious boys. She loves to cook and is an avid Scrabble player.

Grace Yu

Grace joined Regatta Capital Group as a summer intern in 2010. She serves as a Senior Research Analyst and Risk Manager in her current role. As a member of the investment committee, she is actively involved in all aspects of the firm's investment research, due diligence, and trading. While formally educated as an engineer, Grace found her passion in investing. She is a member of CFALA society, she serves as a volunteer mentor for a team of high school students to participate in the annual CCEE Financial Advisor Contest. Grace earned her M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from Pepperdine University and her master's degree in control engineering from the South China University of Technology. Grace lives in El Segundo with her daughter Sophia and her mom. In her spare time, she loves reading, hiking, and travel.

Grant Nabell

John McCormick

John is a Seattle native who relocated with his wife to Redondo Beach in 2012. He graduated from Seattle University with a BA in Finance and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). He has worked in the financial services industry for over 10 years. Before joining Regatta, John was a Wealth Advisor at a local Registered Investment Advisor and has experience working at a Broker/Dealer along with extensive experience in the mutual fund industry. Being of service to clients is where John is at his best. He spent many years in the restaurant business, including owning his own deli for nearly a decade where he worked daily building a customer base one person at a time. Away from work, John spends his time with his wife and son exploring all that Los Angeles has to offer, enjoying the beach life, and cooking as often as possible.

JP Kaczor

JP is a Financial Advisor Associate at Regatta Capital Group, where he crafts holistic financial plans for his clients. Originally from Westchester, California, JP earned his BA in Economics from Loyola Marymount University in 2017. Following his graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corps, serving for four years as an Air Defense Officer. After an honorable discharge, JP transitioned to the wealth management sector. He began his career at a firm specializing in advising military personnel before joining Fidelity Investments. At Fidelity, JP assisted numerous clients in creating financial and investment strategies tailored to their needs. He is deeply committed to promoting financial literacy and helping clients achieve their financial objectives, with expertise spanning estate planning, tax planning, and retirement planning. Outside of work, JP enjoys snowboarding, playing basketball, chess, reading, traveling, and spending cherished moments with friends and family.

Lee Clay

Lee Clay joined Regatta Capital Group in 2018 to launch Regatta IMPACT, a division specializing in Sustainable and Socially Responsible Investing. As a believer in the power of money to enact change, Lee is passionate about using finance as a tool to find solutions for the most pressing environmental and social issues facing both local and global communities while still helping clients achieve their individual investment goals. He is one of less than 1500 people nationwide to be certified as a Chartered Socially Responsible Investment Counselor (CSRIC™). Lee grew up in Dallas and attended Southern Methodist University where he obtained a BBA in Finance from Cox School of Business as well as a BFA in Theater from Meadows School of the Arts. Post undergrad, he worked as a commercial paper trader for The Associates, a Dallas-based Fortune 500 company, where he was part of a seven person trading team responsible for raising over $1 billion of working capital on a daily basis. Lee moved to Los Angeles in 1999 to begin a career in entertainment landing at Dreamworks SKG as an assistant and then creative executive until 2006. In 2007, he started his own independent production company, First Point Entertainment, and produced 11 feature films, a number of which premiered at globally recognized film festivals such as Sundance, Toronto International FF, SXSW, San Sebastian IFF, and Tokyo IFF. Lee is currently Regatta's first bi-coastal team member, splitting his time between Los Angeles and New York / New Jersey with his wife Aimee, writer-director, and his two kids, Jaida and Donovan. When he's not traveling, he can generally be found floating on a surfboard, building furniture in his garage, gardening, or enjoying a beautiful hiking trail on either coast.

Lindsey Diranian

Lindsey serves as a Financial Advisor and Director of Client Service. She joined Regatta Capital Group in December 2019. Lindsey grew up outside of Boston, MA, and graduated from the University of Southern California in 2014 with a B.S in Policy, Planning, and Development (emphasis in Real Estate Development). After college, she worked for a Merrill Lynch financial advisory team in Manhattan Beach and Downtown Los Angeles. She then moved to Wells Fargo Advisors with her team where she continued her career in client services. Lindsey has worked in the industry since 2014 and is passionate about helping clients reach their financial goals. She has significant experience with investment management and financial planning needs, including mortgages, insurance, estate planning, and retirement planning. At Regatta, Lindsey works primarily with Spencer Kelly by using her expertise to help manage and develop their relationships. She is also committed to doing right by Regatta clients and expanding their approach to client service. In her spare time, Lindsey loves traveling, skiing, doing hot yoga, and cuddling with her pup Stella. She is also a major Boston sports fan and enjoys attending various games across the country.

Lisa Margulies

Lisa is a Financial Advisor, Branch Manager, Mentor, and Transformational Coach. Lisa brings a unique, compassionate, yet focused and practical approach to financial planning. She is passionate about empowering women and men through all stages of life. Her steadiness comes from walking with so many through all of life and end-of-life experiences and challenges, including her own. She truly loves what she does on a daily basis. Her connections with her clients get her out of bed every day. In addition to being an Advisor/Branch Manager, she is also a mom to two amazing young adult children. Her son is 31 and in 3rd year of medical school in Hawaii. Her daughter is 28 and owns a business training dogs (and their humans) in Colorado. As a Mentor, she has spent countless hours mentoring youth in their passion and purpose. As a result of BLM, she found a new mentorship blessing in supporting African American women in financial literacy and beyond. As a result of this incredible and extended mentorship, a group of women has gone on to form a new company called Wise Women of Wealth, Inc (WWOW). She has dedicated her off-time to supporting these women by creating unique content to lift personal, societal, and cultural barriers to financial stability and wealth. They are all looking forward to launching their unique program later in 2023. One of the founders of WWOW was further inspired to create an app. As a result, this mentee has been accepted into an entrepreneurial developmental program through Centro Community Partners. Lisa has been honored for her work with WWOW by having a scholarship named after her.

Maria Toler

Maria grew up in a small town along the Colorado River. She has been in the mortgage and financial industry for the last 7 years. She is no stranger to hard work! She managed through the "COVID" surge in mortgages, while supporting 100+ clients and grew many lasting customer connections. Prior to that, she worked in the service industry. Serving customers has been a passion of hers for her entire career. When she is not working she enjoys going to the gym, traveling and spending time with her dogs, a black mouth cur named Savvy and a pit bull terrier named Juicy. She recently spent three weeks traveling Europe and Greece, and her favorite places were Cinque Terre, Italy and Naousa, Greece. Maria loves being outdoors, hiking and sunset/sunrise chasing.

Nick Ozer

Nick Ozer is one of the Managing Partners, a Financial Advisor, the Director of Retirement Plans at Regatta Capital Group and also plays a key role in sourcing opportunities for the Regatta Ventures Fund I. His clients include individuals, families and many businesses. He is a problem solver at heart and works through nuanced financial plans on a daily basis. Nick was born and raised in Manhattan Beach and currently lives in Hermosa Beach with his wife Sarah. He graduated with a B.B.A. in Finance and Business Law from the Hilton School of Business at Loyola Marymount University and continued on to earn his M.B.A. from California Lutheran University while becoming a Certified Financial Planner, CFP®.

Nubia Silva

Nubia Silva joined Regatta Capital, as the company's Operations Manager. She is Regatta's "go-to" person, handling bookkeeping, billing, HR management, office management, operational support, and in-house IT support. Her positive and energetic demeanor gives all who visit Regatta a memorable experience. Before joining Regatta Capital Group, Nubia served as the Office Manager for Silver Oak Wealth Advisors, a boutique wealth management firm in Westwood. Nubia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Nubia is passionate about making the lives of others run smoothly and loves the challenges that come with problem-solving with an open mind - something she utilizes every day in her role at Regatta. Nubia cares about connecting with and helping others, making sure everyone has a voice, and enjoys the opportunity to lend a helping hand. Nubia is fluent in Spanish and very knowledgeable in elementary ASL (American Sign Language). Nubia resides in Santa Monica where she enjoys her proximity to the ocean. In her spare time, Nubia enjoys reorganizing her closet, decluttering, and living a less-is-more lifestyle. She loves quality family time, traveling, dancing, and trying new restaurants. She is a family woman at heart and loves having all her family members within arm's reach.

Russell Mohberg - CFO, Founder

Russell is a Co-founder of Regatta Capital Group, a Managing Partner, and serves as the Co-Chief Investment Officer. As the Chair of the firm's Investment Committee, he listens to clients' needs and preferences and searches the investible universe - across the risk/reward spectrum and the public/private divide - for the best solutions. Prior to working in the wealth management industry, Russell was an industrial designer specializing in medical device development. His work in cerebral resuscitation devices led to a position with a venture capital firm in Los Angeles in 1998. During this same time, he completed his MBA in finance at the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University. Russell has served as the personal CFO for many families over the last 15 years. This gives him a unique perspective as Regatta's Chief Investment Officer. He often states that "portfolios are not simply numbers on a page and theoretical experiments - these are peoples' lives that need to be protected and built". Russell employs a balance of prudence and risk taking, analytics and street smarts. Russell was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan and received his B.S. in industrial design from California State University at Long Beach. After his MBA, he added a professional designation in personal financial planning from UCLA and became a certified financial planner. He and his darling wife Laura, and son Evan, reside in Rolling Hills Estates, CA. Outside of the office, Russell enjoys competitive distance running and downhill skiing with his son in destinations such as Telluride, Sun Valley and Park City.

Spencer Kelly

Spencer founded Regatta Capital Group after building his advisory practice at Edward Jones from 2003 - 2008. He spent his first years as an advisor door knocking in Westchester, CA. He met amazing people, gained long-term clients and is proud to have built his business from scratch. As Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Head of Advisory Services at Regatta Capital Group, Spencer is focused on running the business, researching investment opportunities and ensuring that every client of Regatta receives the same exceptional, above-and-beyond service that he has provided his clients for so many years. Spencer grew up in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. Most of his childhood was spent outside, hiking, camping, at the local swimming hole and playing sports. His dad, a writer and adventurer, and his mom, an artist and art teacher, moved to Albany, NY where he graduated from Guilderland Central High School in 1995. Spencer went on to graduate from Boston College in 1999, where he earned his B.S. in Finance from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management. After graduation, he moved to Pacific Beach in San Diego and worked with SCORE! Educational Centers. A wonderful starting point, it gave Spencer the experience of learning to build and run his own business. His love for problem solving and his passion for helping people reach their goals lead him into his career as a financial advisor. Spencer married his wife Meghan in 2020. They live a full, active life raising Meghan's two girls, Leah & Liv, and their son, River, born in 2021. They live in Valley Village and love to spend their time surrounded by friends, traveling, hiking, biking or grabbing dinner at their favorite local restaurants.
