John graduated from Mississippi State University's veterinary school, after attending graduate school at Texas A&M University, and receiving his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. He was born and raised in NY, and spent most of his career practicing in the northeast. He is a dual citizen, and is licensed in several states, as well as the UK. John was excited to finally make the move to Arizona in September 2020, and join the Red Mountain Animal Hospital family full-time. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association , the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association, and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (UK).
Dr. Liz grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, and relocated to Arizona in 2019. She received her BA degree from Johns Hopkins University in German and International Studies, her Master of Education degree from Harvard University in Administration, Planning and Social Policy, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Liz loves Beagles, and has one at home along with her two cats. In her free time she loves baking, and definitely makes some super tasty treats!
Dr. Magelky was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota. Through high school and college she volunteered at Minn-Kota PAAWS (People Advocating Animal Welfare Services), a non-profit organization focused on providing affordable spay/neuter and other veterinary services. She received her Bachelor's Degrees in Animal Science and Equine Science as well as a minor in Agribusiness from North Dakota State University. Dr. Magelky went on to complete veterinary school as part of the inaugural class at the University of Arizona.
She is a cat lover, soft-tissue surgery enthusiast and community outreach advocate. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, country swing and ballroom dancing, reading and following her younger brother's hockey team.
Kim joined the Red Mountain team in June 2019. She has been in the veterinary field since 2004, and has had the pleasure of working in Reception, as a Technician, and in Hospital Management. She loves building relationships with clients, their pets, and her team members. Kim is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association, the Veterinary Healthcare Team of AZ, and volunteers with Mastiff rescue. She has four beautiful children, an English Mastiff, and Guinea pigs at home.
