RED ROCK CONSULTING - Key Persons

Adam Bench with GP&E out of Gainsville, Florida, delivered the new dilatometer equipment to our project site in Walters, Oklahoma on October 5, 2010. Adam stuck around to introduce us to the equipment setup, measurement procedures and analysis software. After a rough start (who knew moisture could get into a nitrogen tank?!), the project went relatively smoothly. After a hard day at work, Adam was treated to an outing in Lawton, Oklahoma with DSO and RRC.

• Laboratory Manager

Chad Pierson, Laboratory Manager, runs the Red Rock Consulting laboratory in addition to performing soils testing. Mr. Pierson is an ODOT certified soils technician. Chad is also our resident animal enthusiast and caretaker.

Dawson Wiseman, EI, Project Specialist, handles geotechnical projects, overseeing field and lab work as well as reporting the findings. Mr. Wiseman graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and recently completed a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical emphasis.

Emma Coggin-Low, EI, Project Specialist, manages geotechnical projects from beginning to end. She oversees and performs field work, organizes and analyzes the data and presents the results for engineering reports. Mrs. Coggin-Low graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical Emphasis from Oklahoma University. As an undergraduate at OU, Emma earned several scholarships and worked as a research assistant helping with research focused on compressed earth block construction and geofabrics. While earning her Masters Degree, she worked as a graduate teaching assistant for the soil mechanics lab.

Grace Brummett, Laboratory Technician, assists in the laboratory. When she's not busy performing her duties, she can be found hanging out with the cats that roam the property.

Jeremy Basler joined the Red Rock team! It's official! Jeremy Basler, PE, made the switch to the Red Rock team this week as our Geotechnical Manager. He comes with many years of geotechnical engineering experience, orange pride and is just a really nice guy. Good luck managing us, Jeremy!! Jeremy Basler, PE, Geotechnical Manager, is responsible for business development and the management of the geotechnical engineering operations. He is a registered professional engineer in Oklahoma and Texas. Jeremy attended college at Oklahoma State University, where he received a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering. Mr. Basler has extensive experience in soils testing and evaluation, foundation and pavement consulting. Areas of focus include earthwork, foundation and pavement recommendations, expansive soils, pressuremeter testing, cone penetrometer testing, slope stability, settlement of compressible soils, geotechnical forensics and dam inspections. Jeremy has been involved in geotechnical investigations for bridges, roadways, wind farms, solar farms, commercial buildings, retaining walls, utility relocations, industrial and chemical plants, pipelines, storage tanks, communication towers, lagoons and water treatment plants. Kristi Simpson, PE, LEED AP, President and Project Engineer, is responsible for geotechnical engineering projects and soils laboratory testing. She is a registered professional engineer in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri and Illinois. Kristi holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University.

• Office Administrator

Lisa Corrales, Office Administrator, keeps things running behind the scenes. She mans the phones while assisting with the administration of proposals, reports and marketing materials. Lisa has over 10 years experience in Office Management and Administrative Support of all kinds.

Michaela Varnier, EI joined the Red Rock Consulting team as a Project Specialist in October of 2010. She is a graduate of Oklahoma University with both a Bachelors and a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering. Her Masters thesis research concentrated on colorimeter testing of sulfate rich soils. Since joing RRC, Michaela has been busy learning about drilling rigs and field testing, including dilatometer testing. In the office, Michaela is learning about different aspects of project management, data analysis and report writing. Michaela has already established herself as a valuable asset.

Spencer Harris joined the Red Rock Consulting team this month. He is a native Oklahoman and has a degree in Geology from Oklahoma State University. Spencer is our very first geologist at Red Rock. Welcome!!

• the Operations & Marketing Coordinator

Tess Jones joined Red Rock Consulting as the Operations & Marketing Coordinator in November of 2010. Tess has over 12 years experience in administrative customer service, office management and marketing. As Operations & Marketing Coordinator, she oversees and maintains the day to day actions of the office. She manages the billing system and ensures reports and proposals are executed and filed. Tess has recently been coordinating the move to the new office, employee benefit packages and parties, including the joint DSO-RRC holiday party and the RRC open house, to take place in December. She has also been busy updating marketing materials to reflect all the changes at RRC. When asked about her recent move into the geotechnical engineering community, Tess responded by stating, "Diving into the geotech field has been an awesome learning experience. RRC has the best clients and consultants! I'm excited to continue growing with such a great company!"
