MARIKO ISHIKAWA

Mariko Ishikawa, who has been with the firm since 1996, is a graduate of Toyo Eiwa Jogakuin University in Japan and has experience as a paralegal in an International law office in Tokyo. She holds a certificate in Business Administration from UCLA and is additionally licensed as a Notary Public. Ms. Ishikawa has extensive experience assisting attorneys in a wide variety of civil, business, and family litigation matters, from case selection through jury trials and appeals, both locally and internationally. Based in Los Angeles, she frequently travels to Japan for client development and the firm's ongoing collaboration and extensive working relationships with several Japanese law firms. Mariko is additionally active in the motorsports industry, serving as a manager for racers and a championship Italian Motorsports team, coordinating races and related events throughout Asia and Europe.

YOSHIE SHIRAI EENIGENBURG

Yoshie Shirai Eenigenburg is a licensed California attorney born and raised in Japan. Before becoming an attorney and joining the Law Offices of Robert W. Cohen, Yoshie worked in the apparel and fashion industry in Los Angeles for more than a decade, both as a designer and in business management. Fluent in both written and spoken Japanese and English, Yoshie brings practical business knowledge and experience, and cultural understanding to her legal practice. Yoshie's practice focuses on representing Japanese companies in matters involving labor and employment issues, contracts, trademarks, franchising, licensing and permits, and corporate governance, among others. She also provides legal counsel to Japanese persons and companies interested in establishing new businesses, or expanding existing businesses in the U.S. She assists in forming new entities; setting up branch offices; preparing shareholder and operating agreements, bylaws, and corporate minutes, and employee agreements and handbooks. Yoshie also provides legal guidance and assistance in registering federal and state trademarks, including conducting preliminary and full U.S. availability trademark searches, filing and prosecuting federal or state applications, maintaining registrations, and advising on proper trademark usage. For Japanese clients interested in establishing a franchise business in the U.S., Yoshie assists in preparing the required franchise disclosure documents, franchise agreements, and applications for state registrations. With a Bachelor of Laws degree from Chuo University, and Master of Laws degree from the University of Southern California, and years of business and managerial experience, Yoshie provides Japanese clients sound legal advice and guidance that will help them navigate the intricacies of federal, state, and municipal laws to achieve their objective.
