Juan A. Jaramillo - CFO, COO

Juan Antonio joined ROAM Capital in 2017 and serves as CFO and COO for the firm. He is in charge of all financial and operating matters, including compliance and ongoing administrative activities firm-wide. Prior to ROAM, Juan began his career at Fitch Ratings, the leading rating agency in Colombia, determining the market and credit risk ratings of approximately 80 fixed income funds with over $5B under management. After Fitch, Juan joined the investment banking team of the largest banking conglomerate in Colombia (Grupo AVAL, NYSE: AVAL) where he spent five years as an Analyst and Director developing and structuring several IPOs, valuations, bond issues, and project financing transactions in excess of $2B for both private and public companies in Colombia, including financial modeling, market, and legal advisory services throughout the transaction process. He then joined Correval (now part of the Peruvian Credicorp Group, NYSE: BAP), the largest investment bank in Colombia as an Associate and Vice President of Investment Banking where he focused on infrastructure project finance and DCM in the Colombian market, successfully closing more than $2.5B in transactions, including the largest bond issuance in the Colombian debt equity market for SAB Miller (now AB InBev). He is a business graduate from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.

Mario A. Sierra

Mario joined ROAM Capital in 2016 and brings over sixteen years of experience in investment banking and private equity. Before ROAM Capital, Mario worked for five years for MarketGrader Corp., an independent stock research company with offices in Miami and New York, catering to top tier clients including Merrill Lynch, UBS, and Credit Suisse. Mario began his career at Ultraserfinco S.A., Comisionista de Bolsa as a Senior Analyst in the investment banking division, where he participated in several syndicated loans, mergers and acquisitions, and IPO transactions worth upwards of $850M. Mario was responsible for structuring the first two private equity funds managed by the firm and was subsequently promoted to manage both endeavors. While spearheading the firm's private equity initiatives, Mario raised over $50M from pension funds, insurance companies, family offices, and high net worth individuals, and participated in numerous investment committees' sourcing and investment efforts. Since joining ROAM, Mario has participated in over $450M in commitments across all ROAM's strategies. Mario holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the Andreas School of Business at Barry University. He also holds an advanced degree in Finance and Real Estate Law.

Michael F. Hines

Michael joined ROAM Capital in 2019 and serves as a Principal for the firm. Michael focuses on the distribution of the firm's alternative investments offerings, expanding the firm's existing network of relationships, and liquidity mechanisms for secondary markets. Before joining ROAM, Michael worked for Tritaurian Capital, the first non-ATS U.S. broker-dealer to receive FINRA approval for the private placement of digital securities using distributed ledger (blockchain) technology, with a focus on tokenization efforts for alternative investments in Latin America. Michael brings over 20 years of business development experience to ROAM's executive team, having co-founded, developed, and sold a branded chain of 30 company-owned medical aesthetic centers with operations in Venezuela, Panama, Colombia, and the United States, and serving as co-founder and Interim CFO of a Latin American FinTech blockchain company. Michael began his career working for the Latin American Investment Banking division of Salomon Smith Barney (now Citigroup) in New York. Having started as an Analyst in the firm and rising to an Associate position, Michael executed over $8.5B in mergers and acquisitions advisories, equity, and debt capital market financings for various Latin American companies. Michael has transactional work experience in Chile, Colombia, México, Panamá, Spain, and Venezuela within the banking, construction, media, mining, and retail sectors. Michael earned dual degrees in Finance and International Business from Georgetown University.

Philippe A. Stiernon - CEO, Founder

Philippe is the Founder, CEO, and Managing Partner of ROAM Capital. He manages all core fund marketing mandates and spearheads relationships with prospective LPs on behalf of the firm's clients, particularly with respect to senior decision-makers at pension funds. Philippe's background is in wealth management, alternative investments, and private equity. Prior to founding ROAM, Philippe served as Co-Head of Investor Relations at Teka Capital, a Latin American private equity fund based in Bogota, Colombia. He also served as Director of Investor Relations at Aramid Asset Management, a hedge fund in London and spent five years working for Merrill Lynch's Private Wealth Management division in New York and Miami helping ultra-high net worth clients structure and invest their wealth, particularly with respect to their alternative investment allocations. He was the alternative investment specialist at Merrill's $4.5B family office catering to Latin America's largest clients. Philippe graduated from Georgetown University with degrees in Finance and International Business and also holds an MBA from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business where he graduated with high distinction, making him a double Hoya. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and French and is based out of Miami. Philippe is also a member of Georgetown University's Latin American Board, a body of the University whose mission is to develop and strengthen ties with Latin America through partnerships, and the execution of high impact initiatives throughout the region.

René Estripeaut

René joined ROAM Capital in 2019 and serves as a Senior Associate. René focuses on helping to expand the firm's relationships with family offices and institutional investors in Panama and surrounding countries in Central America. Before joining ROAM, René was an entrepreneur and a wealth manager, working with several asset management firms specializing in Latin American high net worth families. René has over 20 years of experience developing relationships in the Latin American region, allowing him to contribute significant business development opportunities to the firm. René also serves as the founder of The Connecting Group, a knowledge-based consultancy solution that offers consulting and other services to many of these groups and families. René began his career as a financial consultant at LAFISE, having subsequently worked in the Private Asset Management division of Wall Street Securities, and as a co-founder in Mundial Asset Management. In his entrepreneurial life, René has co-founded several ventures, including Quintessentially Lifestyle, Marine Blenders, Lux Panama, and now The Connecting Group. René attended USMA and Ulacit.

Santiago Illera

Santiago joined ROAM Capital in 2021 as a Research and Business Development Associate and was promoted in 2023 to VP of Marketing and Business Development, focusing primarily on prospecting new business opportunities and supporting the team in identifying best-in-class opportunities based on investor's needs and current market trends. Before joining ROAM, he served as a Product Development Director in Fiduoccidente, where he worked side-by-side with local and regional general partners in structuring customized alternative investment vehicles that comply with local regulations, international standards, and investor expectations. He was responsible for successfully launching more than five new private equity funds, that invest in local infrastructure, real estate, and venture capital as well as increasing the company's pipeline and recognition within the industry. Before this role, Santiago was part of the Alternative Investments Team in Colfondos (the third-largest pension fund in Colombia), where he was in charge of the analysis and due diligence of international and local private equity funds and their inherent strategies. Santiago holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and International Trade from Universidad del Rosario. He is based in Bogota and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Santiago Torres

Santiago joined ROAM Capital in 2023 and serves as Head of Research for the firm, in charge of conducting due diligence on alternative fund managers within the private equity, private credit, and real estate asset classes. Additionally, he is responsible for performing benchmarking, and comparison reports to assess the opportunity cost and manager return profiles on a risk-adjusted basis. Santiago is also responsible for the elaboration of the Scorecard for each manager within the ROAM platform, a proprietary research piece with a grading methodology that summarizes the critical aspects evaluated during the fund's due diligence process. He previously worked as Director of Private Markets at Kandor Global (MFO), overseeing all private market investments for the firm's clients. His responsibilities included sourcing, conducting due diligence, obtaining approvals, and facilitating subscriptions for various managers within the private capital asset classes. He was also responsible for introducing an institutional approach to the firm's manager selection process, ensuring alignment with the underlying client portfolio construction and asset allocation requirements. Prior to this role, Santiago served as Portfolio Manager at Global Seguros, one of Colombia's most active insurance companies in alternative investments, where he managed the firm's alternatives program, primarily focusing on private debt and real estate investments. Throughout his almost 6-year tenure, Santiago developed the allocation models that guided the firm's yearly commitments, optimal strategies and managers per the firm's portfolio construction needs and spearheaded the due diligence efforts. Santiago holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and International Relations from Universidad Externado.
