RON FOUST, DDS - Key Persons


Dr. Ron Foust

Dr. Foust graduated from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis, TN. After graduation he spent over a year in Charlotte, North Carolina functioning as a children's dentist with the Mecklenburg County Health Department. Upon returning to his hometown of Knoxville he opened his private practice in its current location just south of downtown. Dr. Foust has spent his professional years developing his skills through extensive continuing education. He is fortunate to have been taught by a number of well-respected mentors known worldwide. This esteemed list includes his mentors in the Florida Dento-Facial Study Club, Dr. Carl Gugino and Dr. Donnie Myers since 1987, Dr. Mike Schuster of the Schuster Centre for Professional Development, Dr. William Brandt, UT Health Science Center, Memphis, and Dr. Michael Couch of CaringQuest, Ocala, Florida. Additionally he was trained by Dr. John Chao, Alhambra, California in the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PSTĀ®) for scalpel-free gum recession correction. Through their mentoring Dr. Foust has incorporated many technologies he learned from them into his own practice such as Cone Beam X-rays and neuromuscular technologies to aid in his treatment of patients with muscular dysfunction and orthodontic challenges. He is an enthusiastic advocate for integrative medicine that includes healthy nutrition to aid in the prevention of disease. Dr. Foust bases his practice philosophy on building trusting relationships with his patients. He believes this to be the first and most important characteristic of a dental medicine doctor. Excellence for his patients' dental health is always his goal throughout the diagnostic and treatment phases of dentistry. Being an avid fly fisherman Dr. Foust is quite happy to spend his free time on a great trout river fishing with the flies he tied himself. He and his wife, Pat, are the proud parents of Jonathan and Stephanie (Jody) and have one special granddaughter, Abby. They are active members of their church, Sevier Heights Baptist in Knoxville.
