Ryan's Rustic Railings was conceived as a sole proprietorship in 1994 from a spin-off of Voyageur Log Homes, a local log home company. While working with Voyageur Log Homes, Ryan Holman the founder of Ryan's Rustic Railings recognized that many people were requesting handrail systems for their new homes and cabins. Working closely with, and under the guidance of his father. Ryan began building and installing hand peeled northern white cedar rail systems in these log houses and cabins. From the starting of the handrail systems Ryan than began to provide interior and exterior log railings, spiral staircases, and log furniture out of his small farmhouse garage in Orr MN. In 2000 after Ryan's Rustic Railings took off, the business was relocated to a property of 40 acres south of Orr with exposure to Highway 53.
