Alan Viall Territory: Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island Year started at indus: 2014 In the industry since: 1991 From reconstructing docks to dealing with solid waste to repaving highways, Alan has been through it all in both the public and private sector. It's that kind of experience that drives him to provide not only success or improvement, but both. He knows how to recognize a potential road problem and make an adjustment before it happens - a skill that can benefit almost any client. Nobody works harder at serving client needs.

With a Master's degree in accountancy from Bentley College and over 30 years of experience working with and implementing construction software, April has a great handle on the technology at indus. As a member of the Northeast Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, April keeps current with financial trends in the construction industry. When it comes to construction, her family ties run deep - as a young girl she remembers driving around with her dad as he checked out potential projects on the weekends.
Although April's focus is on IT and financial matters, she is also a big believer in people. To her, the best part about working at indus is working in an environment where everyone has a voice.
Art received his Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Connecticut. This technical background has helped Art understand how to best help pavement managers design and implement pavement management plans that are both technically and financially sound.
Art spent over ten years as a Public Works Director in CT & MA. This experience helped him understand how best to assist agencies in utilizing their available funding to best increase the overall condition of their entire paved network. Art has also learned how to provide and maintain a professional relationship to provide the most beneficial client experience.

Dan brings over two decades of experience in helping communities improve road networks and maximize budgets up and down the East Coast. With both a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Vermont and a Master's degree in business administration from Curry College, he understands how to help agencies design infrastructure management plans that are both technically and financially sound.
Spending ten years as the Commissioner of Public Works and Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Wallkill, NY helped Dan recognize the critical importance of taking a network optimization approach to pavement management and how practicing pavement preservation leads to safer, better and more cost-effective roads. After all that experience, he knows that start-to-finish professionalism makes a difference in not just starting new client relationships, but maintaining them.

A passion is evoked every time Dave drives. Whether he feels a sense of pride or realization of the progress that still needs to happen, it's easy to see the impact that roads have on everyone's life. Dave received his Master's degree in business administration from Bentley University and knows that good businesses are built on the foundation of the people served. He's a major part of setting and maintaining the people-first attitude that helps make indus unique.
Dave has spent his whole life in the garage ... fixing, building and fabricating. After four years at an automotive vocational high school and four years as a diesel mechanic in the Navy, he's spent the past 3+ decades researching, designing and building custom pavement and bridge preservation equipment for indus.
Because indus has always valued his ability to think outside of the box, he's been able to develop and maintain a distinct fleet of custom-designed trucks that perform (and look) better than most standard models. Dave credits putting people first as the reason that he and his industry-renowned fleet can consistently deliver superior results.
For Biffy, this is literally a family business. Indus was started by her grandfather and his sons, and while gathering five decades of experience, she's grown into a leadership role of her own. With a graduate degree in accounting from Bentley University and as a member of the Construction Financial Management Association, she makes sure that every project has the right budget and holds to it. Even though she's in charge of the finances, Biffy knows that people come first - whether clients or co-workers. She's spent a good part of her life leading and supporting teams who maintain the region's roads and bridges, for the benefit of the people who drive them every day.
While earning a Master's degree in business management at Suffolk University, Jessica joined the indus team to help improve operations while continuing to put people first. Jessica's dedication to indus and strong work ethic are strong motivators for those around her to work as a team to get the job done right.
Jessica believes that treating every employee, client and vendor like family makes for good business. Even when the work is hard, that's the best way to make sure everyone's needs are heard and addressed. Helping people goes both ways.
Joel Faria has joined the indus team as our newest Regional Manager servicing Vermont, central and western Massachusetts, and eastern Connecticut. Joel comes to us from the Town of Granby, CT where as Deputy Director he was instrumental in upgrading the community's pavement management program by placing a heavier emphasis on keeping good roads in good condition with surface treatments and other pavement preservation tools. Prior to Granby, Joel served as Foreman for the Westfield MA DPW where he was also responsible for adding new treatments to and modernizing the City's pavement management program.
For John, leading a team is about the work itself. After 25 years of leadership from military search and rescue to environmental work and construction, John understands what it takes to help a group succeed.
When it comes to roadways, John knows that every member of the driving public deserves safe new road surfaces, and the feeling of security that comes with driving over smooth pavement. That's why, above all else, John joined the team at indus because professionalism and superior results drive everything he does.

But Kristie does much more than pay the bills. She knows the ins and outs of the business and sees each process through from start to finish. She uses this knowledge (and her Bachelor's degree in psychology) every day in her role as indus's office manager. She has a deep understanding of the big picture and is excited for indus's continued growth and success.
With over 18 years in the pavement preservation and paving industry, Matt Teto joins the indus team as the company's first Quality Control Manager. Teto is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Since graduating from WPI, his career has been devoted to improving area roadways, performing a wide variety of research, design, testing and quality control oversight activities. He has served on the board of directors of the NorthEast Transportation Training and Certification Program (NETTCP) since 2015 and is a member of the NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist Committee.
Teto's primary responsibility is working with indus' field supervisors, suppliers and other project stakeholders to deliver the highest quality workmanship possible. Teto exemplifies indus' value of providing superior work and sets the expectation that we do our best on every job, for every customer, every single day. What he loves most about indus is the daily opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of everyone who drives our community's roads.
With a master's degree in business administration from Fitchburg State University and nearly 10 years of experience working in the utility and municipal world, Melissa has a unique understanding and appreciation for the hard work indus crews perform daily. Certified in Human Resources Management, Melissa's focus is to nurture a positive working environment and guide each indus family member towards success.
Melissa has a passion for people that echos the indus people-first philosophy and believes we often forget that in human resources, we are exactly that, a resource for humans.

After completing a semester co-op program with indus, Paul knew that he would like to continue his career with indus once he graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in construction management. After earning his diploma, he came back with new experiences that he applied to his roles as general laborer, foreman and his current position of superintendent.
When some people see road construction, they see dirty environments and loud noises. But after years of making roads and bridges safer and more comfortable, Paul thinks nothing is more satisfying than when someone appreciates a job well done. When he's managing a project, Paul puts people first. He knows this attitude is what makes indus stand out.
Rich likes to say that he got his education at the school he's still attending: "indus university." After joining indus fresh out of high school, he took on many different roles and responsibilities while working his way up to the level of Vice President. For his success, he credits the beliefs that hard work and the desire to do the best job possible are more important than anything.
On a day-to-day basis, Rich is responsible for making sure doing well on one job leads to another; this requires working closely with both clients and indus employees to ensure everyone's expectations have been met. He uses his experiences at "indus university" to help educate the indus team and bring continued success to each job.

Robert Zalinger Territory: Central and Western Connecticut Year started at indus: 2012 In the industry since: 1987 Rob knows that pavement preservation isn't just important for the road ahead, but every road ahead. That's because his nearly two decades of experience has taught him that protecting one road helps protect the entire roadway network - and that saves taxpayer money. Having started his roadway career in the blacktop paving business in 1987, he's seen firsthand how today's mixes are not lasting as long as they used to and require more frequent maintenance. But for all his focus on roads, that's not always what comes first. Rob puts most of his effort into making client relationships the strongest they can be.

Whether it's mass transit or bridges, Steve has managed just about every kind of infrastructure project you can think of. That includes extending the MBTA Red Line in Cambridge, building an Amtrak maintenance facility in Boston, and maintaining quality control for Aetna Bridge in Rhode Island. It's a lot of construction experience for someone with a degree in education! Learning how to teach people means Steve knows how to treat everyone with respect, no matter their place or position. It's a value that he shares with indus and something he's kept top of mind as he's helped indus grow into a company that exemplifies professionalism across the bridge and pavement industry.

Todd has joined the team at indus after spending the last 8 years working as the Highway Chief Engineer at the Department of Public Works for the City of Manchester, NH. He is a highly skilled professional engineer with years of experience in both municipal public works and engineering services. Todd has a passion for pavement preservation and recycling, experience with treatments at every stage of the asphalt deterioration curve, and a wealth of knowledge built during his 25+ year career.
Tom Hurley Territory: Lower Hudson River Valley of New York Year started at indus: 2018 In the industry since: 1981 If there's one thing Tom has learned from his three-plus decades of experience in the quarry and asphalt industry, it's that building relationships is the most important part of his job. Creating and maintaining a good customer relationship gives Tom and his team the ability to not only reduce risk, but offer comprehensive solutions to a wide range of pavement problems.
