Gary Sniffin

Gary Sniffin holds both Civil and Mechanical Engineering registrations with the State of California. Gary's previous engineering experiences include serving as the Assistant City Engineer for the City of Dover, New Hampshire followed by 20 years experience as an officer in the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps. While serving as an engineer in the Navy, he worked extensively in the following areas: In-shore facility construction, inspection, operation, maintenance, and repair Awarded and administered numerous architect/engineer service contracts Specialized in-house staff of design professionals Conducted design reviews of scores of projects, including a $100 million operational and community support expansion Awarded and administered numerous construction and repair contracts Operated and maintained community facilities including 600 buildings, 170 miles of roads, and 250 miles of utilities After retiring from the Navy in 1989, Gary entered the home inspection profession with DeBerry Inspection Services and soon thereafter founded SD Engineering. Trent Burdeno

Job Titles:
  • Principal Engineer
Trent Burdeno graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from San Diego State University in 2013. Trent's interest in engineering began early as he interned and worked with contractors specializing in foundations and engineers with various specialties from waterproofing to soils investigations. Upon graduating from SDSU Trent began his engineering career and continued his education by obtaining various special inspector certifications. In 2016 Trent was approached to begin his partnership with SD Engineering. With his vast knowledge of construction and engineering, as well as his excellent client service skills, he worked with Gary Sniffin to become fully integrated into SD Engineering. In 2017 Trent received his Professional Engineering license from the State of California. With SD Engineering's 25 year business experience, Trent's education, and Gary's guidance, Trent became a partner of SD Engineering. Trent maintains an affiliation with California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) and attends their monthly meetings. He is also certified as a special inspector in fields ranging from reinforced concrete to soils. When Trent is not working he can be found riding motorcycles, working on his 1970 Chevelle, or camping in the desert or mountains. Trent also enjoys spending time in his backyard with his wife, dog, and two tortoises.
