Christopher K. Travis is the Managing Partner and lead residential designer for Sentient Architecture, LLC. He is not a registered architect, but has served as a consultant and designer for major residential and historic commercial projects in Texas since 1975. In early 2010, after fifteen years of managing Sentient Architecture, LLC and Round Top Architecture and serving as the firms' lead designer, Mr. Travis returned to his design.build roots, forming a new firm called Truehome Design.Build that is aligned with the philosophy and patent-pending Truehome approach. He now does both design and construction in that firm. Sentient Architecture LLC still offers design services in cases in which Truehome Design.Build is not serving as construction manager. Mr. Travis is a writer and the publisher of the regional humor and commentary newspaper, the Round Top Register, which also had its "ten minutes of fame" with articles in the New York Times, Editor and Publisher Magazine, and other national and regional publications. The Register's website was named one of the Top Ten Media Websites in Texas by Texas Monthly. He was interviewed by the BBC and fooled a variety of Texas newspapers and TV stations, and the Daily Show with his mythical characters. The Arts at Large reporter for the New York Times called the Register "the Prairie Home Companion of the Lone Star State".
