Dr Iraklis Paraskakis

Dr Iraklis Paraskakis is a Senior Research Officer at the South East European Research Centre (SEERC), and coordinator of the Information & Knowledge Management research cluster. He is also Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at CITY College, Greece, and Associate Lecturer in the Department of Informatics at the Hellenic Open University. He holds a PhD in Information Technology and Education from the Open University (UK), and an MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems from London School of Economics. His research interests are in the areas of educational informatics, information systems, and knowledge management. He has a number of publications in related conferences and journals, and has participated in several successfully completed and on-going EU projects in these areas. He has served as organising chair and program committee member in numerous international and regional conferences, and as a referee for several journals in the area of educational informatics. He is a member of BCS, IEEE, EARLI, AIED and AACE.

Dr Simeon Veloudis

Dr Symeon Veloudis holds a BSc and a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Reading. He has been employed for several years as a lecturer at various educational institutions. Currently, he is a research associate at the South East European Research Centre (SEERC). His research interests lie in the realms of formal security modelling, in cloud computing, and in real-time safety critical systems. He has a number of publications in related conferences and journals.

Dr. Adrian Solomon

Experienced researcher & manager with expertise in environmentally sustainable and resilient organizations and in managing R&D projects involving innovative solutions and technologies for organizational competitiveness and compliance. In my current position as Deputy Director, I am in charge of my organisation's project/contract portfolio development, innovation development, and research impact achievement. So far, I have successfully acquired and/or managed sixteen (16) projects amounting to more than 15.5 million Euros. The interest in environmental sustainability, technology and innovation developed through cutting-edge R&D also led to international recognition and consultancy requests. I have served as keynote speaker and panel speaker in numerous international events. Lastly, I have a passion for academic teaching and I am transferring the practical know-how into the academic curricula for modules related to Operations & Supply Chain Management, Technological Innovation, Digital Transformation & Entrepreneurship. I hold a PhD in Environmentally Sustainable Supply Chains and a first class degree in computer science both from the University of Sheffield, UK.

Dr. Mirjana Stankovic

Dr. Mirjana Stankovic speaks the languages of public policy, education, technology transfer, and international development. This she can do in Latin and Cyrillic scripts, as necessary. She has been awarded numerous fellowships and awards for her research in the areas of innovation, technology transfer and intellectual property, including the Fulbright Fellowship, and the World Bank Institute Robert McNamara Fellowship. She has studied at prestigious academic institutions such as Duke University, Chicago Kent College of Law, and Central European University (Budapest). She was the valedictorian of her class in the fourth-ranked Intellectual Property Law program in the USA (Chicago Kent College of Law). She also holds a PhD in Development Economics, and an LLM in International Business Law. Although she was born and raised in a small country, her concerns for issues that surpass the local borders have made her a truly international citizen. Her motto about life is building bridges across various disciplines and with various people, regardless of their national origin and economic status. She is a firm believer in free and open global culture.

Mr. Besart Hajrizi

Mr. Besart Hajrizi was awarded a BSc in Economy in 2010 from the University of Prishtina, where he has also been awarded as a distinguished student with the highest GPA (10). After his graduation in BSc, he enrolled MSc in Management and Informatics at the University of Prishtina in 2010, as such, he graduated in 2013. Meanwhile, he used to work in an NGO so-called Business Support Centre Kosovo (BSCK) as a business consultant, and he was also serving as a researcher on Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development in Kosovo research report published from 2010 until 2014 by BSCK. He is now a full time PhD Candidate under the Doctoral Program offered by the University of Sheffield and SEERC. His research interest involves determinants of innovation and the impact of the innovation on the performance of small and medium enterprises. He also serves as teaching assistant at the University of Mitrovica "Isa Boletini"(UMIB), Faculty of Economy.

Mr. Nikos Zaharis

Mr. Nikos Zaharis is the Director of SEERC. His goal is to build up and expand SEERC's research agenda and strengthen research partnerships internationally and in the South East European Region focusing on issues of economic and regional development, IT policy and social development. Mr. Zaharis has a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, an MSc degree in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, USA, as well as a series of continuous education certificates on various management topics. He has more than 22 years experience as a consultant and manager working for industrial as well as public sector organizations on issues ranging from quality and environmental management to managing of research, economic and regional development in Greece and in a series of eastern European countries

Ms Katerina Sidiropoulou
