Alex Webb

Alex brings over 9 years of Interior Design experience to our Interior Design team, including both residential and commercial ventures. A born & raised Memphian, she graduated from the University of Memphis with an accredited degree in Interior Design. Previously at Amy Howard Home and Office Interiors, she brings a variety and wealth of knowledge to the team. As a designer at Office Interiors, she was responsible for designing and procuring, with product specifications ranging from $100 to $1 Million. From procurement to installation, she has experience in working with vendors and manufacturers to ensure the best product solutions for the client at the best prices. She knows the importance of maintaining trusting relationships with all parties and believes open and consistent communication is the way to achieve lasting results. Alex has 6 years of experience in commercial office design, and 4 years of expertise in residential specialty finishing, including educating end users and retailers on a variety of specialty finishing techniques. With 8+ years of experience in interiors project management and planning, Alex is a valuable asset to Shapiro & Company Interiors. Alex's true passion lies in residential design, where she is focused on building long-lasting relationships to provide strategic solutions in Interior Design, all while exceeding client expectations and bringing clients' vision of their home to life. Outside of work, she enjoys sewing, caring for her houseplants, and creating terrariums. You may even find her snuggled up with her cat, Willow!

April Rodriguez

Born in the Philippines and raised in Memphis, April has been surrounded by and fascinated with the arts from a young age. She graduated from Memphis College of Art with a Bachelor of Graphic Design with a concentration in Illustration. April is responsible for all of the firm's graphic design needs including architectural renderings and marketing material. As a Graphic Designer of an architecture firm, April has the unique job of bridging the gap between the client's vision and the architect's goal.

Blake Childers

Blake is a 4th-year architecture student at the University of Memphis. Blake has been doodling houses since he was eight years old and is passionate about capturing the human experience through residential architecture and interior design. Although still a student, Blake has worked on two separate projects that were certified LEED Platinum. He is a valuable resource for both our architecture and interior design studios. When he is out of the office, you can find Blake listening to EDM music at the pool with his two dogs, Bandit and Boleyn.

Brad Shapiro - CEO, President

Brad has been practicing architecture for 37 years. He'll tell you that he loves what he does so much that he doesn't even consider it work, and he certainly means it. Brad dreamed of being a residential architect from his early teens and has pursued his passion since that time. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1985 and founded Shapiro & Company Architects in 1999. Today he serves as the Chief Executive Officer as well as head of design services. Brad's wide range of expertise in the residential industry has led his firm to award-winning projects, gaining regional and national recognition. A leader with great vision and energy, Brad guides the planning and design process from beginning to end. He ensures that each project meets the client's needs as well as meets the requirements and constraints of the marketplace. Brad's love of architecture and infectious personality is reflected in his commitment to his clients and employees. Brad is also an active participant in numerous national and regional building-related conferences and seminars throughout the year. Carla Allen

Carla received her BBA in Accounting from the University of Memphis and started working with Shapiro & Company at the onset of the firm's formation. As an experienced accountant, Carla is responsible for monitoring the financial performance of the company. She has a natural appetite toward improving business and accounting practices as well as increasing usability and productivity via the innovative use of technology. Carla also works closely with the CEO to monitor legal requirements and compliance, and to collaborate on human resource strategies by determining accountabilities, communicating, and enforcing values, policies, and procedures. In her spare time, she loves to travel and explore, crossing new places off her bucket list!

Carley Keel

Carley received her Interior Design degree from Mississippi State University, a highly respected program accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation and is experienced in both residential and commercial projects. Her design talents, communication skills, and organization enable her to provide a full range of custom design services from start to finish. She is accredited by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and has passed the National Certification for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). The strenuous requirements of the NCIDQ certification give clients added confidence in the caliber of work from NCIDQ Certified interior designers that capture the core competencies of interior design: building systems, codes, construction standards, contract administration, design application, professional practice, and project coordination. She is passionate about interior design and is well versed in modern design trends, but also understands methods to maintain classic and timelessness in her designs. She works tirelessly, hand in hand, with our clients to create stunning interiors that blend seamlessly with Shapiro & Company's already acclaimed architectural designs.

Christopher McRae

Christopher graduated from Mesa University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in English Literature and originally taught English in Japan and Elementary school stateside. After realizing his calling in architecture, he graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Architecture. Christopher's truest joy comes from something his family refers to as "architectural drives." Within the firm, Christopher plays an active role throughout all phases of Multi-Family projects. He is responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments. He uses an explorative technique to define the scope of work while working through the investigation and development of concepts and methods.

Cody Moore

Cody obtained his Interior Design degree from Mississippi State University, an esteemed CIDA accredited program. Cody has a total of 5 years of design experience. After graduating, Cody designed at Hirsch Bedner Associates in Atlanta, the number 1 ranking hospitality design firm in the world, honing his skills within the hospitality and luxury multi-family industry. In Atlanta, he worked on large scale projects like the Disney Animal Kingdom Suites, Ritz Carlton, Hilton Embassy Suites Prototype Rebrand, and several high-rise luxury multi-family projects which are now part of the midtown Atlanta skyline. After HBA, Cody started his own residential design business focusing on curating spaces that fit his clients personal styles and aesthetics. He has a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating spaces that seamlessly blend functionality with aesthetic appeal. He believes that the best designs are informed by listening and paying attention to the client's wants and needs within a space. Cody is excited to bring his knowledge of luxury hospitality and multi-family projects to the designs at Shapiro & Company. He has his eyes set on becoming NCIDQ and LEED certified in the near future. Outside of his interior design career, Cody is a photographer focusing on portraits, architecture, and lifestyle photography. Dennis Mitchell

Born in Biloxi, Mississippi at Keesler Air Force Base, Dennis grew up in a military family allowing him the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live in, and explore, remarkable places such as Portugal, Germany, and Turkey. As a child moving from one place to another, Dennis never configured a clear-cut plan of what he wanted to do when he grew up. However, as he grew, he always found himself taken back to the exquisite architecture he visited across the globe. Dennis knew his love for precision, drawing, and design, coupled with his exposure to some of the world's most breathtaking architecture, would take him somewhere extraordinary. Dennis has been with Shapiro and Company since 1999 and works closely with the CEO on the overall management of the company. His military roots assist him in upholding the firm's reputation for dependability, diligence, integrity, efficiency, and professionalism. Dennis's exceptionally hard work and determination to his career, clients, and staff members is evident through his admirable actions and words. Although dedicated to his work in architecture, Dennis is also dedicated to his three children and lovely wife. He strives to stand firm in doing everything he does with excellence to be the best husband, father, and architect he can be. She enjoys helping out around the office and lending a hand wherever she can! Outside of work, Katie likes to go antiqueing for fun, unique items and turns her finds into interesting, one-of-a-kind crafts. You can also find her hanging out with her daughter and fur baby, Delilah.

Kristyn Plank

Kristyn is a graduate of Western Michigan University's accredited Interior Design program, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Kristyn has been immersed in architecture and design and knew early on that she wanted to create spaces that made an impact. With experience from Chicago firms Ilene Chase Design and Devon Grace Interiors, she is qualified in nearly every stage of design, from meeting with clients to design presentations with 3D models to ordering and procurement. Kristyn is dedicated to the functional needs of clients while also reflecting clients' individual personalities, using creative thinking & problem solving as guides. She firmly believes that each environment should be an expression of the client and should work to cultivate a unique feeling for anyone entering the space. Her abilities to plan, organize, and prioritize allow her to flourish in creating timeless yet modern designs. When Kristyn is not working on creating the perfect harmony between function and form, she can be found at the gym or hanging out with her feline friend, Ziggy.

Lily Montague

Lily Montague is a rising 5 th year architecture student at Mississippi State University, with a minor in Interior Design. She is an active member of AIAS at Mississippi State where she is the chair and organizer of the Beaux Arts Ball. She was born and raised in Memphis and has a passion for working within the Memphis community. Lily loves the creative side of architecture, and one of her talents includes art and drawing. When not working, she can be found spending time with friends and family in Downtown Memphis.

Louise Lee

Louise holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Master's in Urban Design from University of Melbourne, Australia. She is a member of U.S. Green Building Council with LEED AP credentials in Building Design + Construction (BD+C) and Neighborhood Development (ND). Prior to joining Shapiro & Company Architects, she has worked in Australia, South Korea, and across the US as an architectural designer, urban designer, and master planner. Through her travels she has gained valuable insight into international design and construction practices. Her experience includes international master planning of new towns, communities and domestic urban design projects ranging from campus planning, mixed-use development and design guidelines. She has successfully led project teams on the application of LEED ND sustainable principles, and is an experienced design professional who places high value on finding solutions that exceed the expectations of clients. In addition to creating innovative and high-quality sustainable design, she understands how architecture relates to urban spaces.

Mary Singletary

Mary graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science concentrating in Architecture, Interior Design and Marketing after being interested in architecture since high school. She has an affable, enthusiastic presence and is a natural collaborator. Architecture is the perfect way of blending her love for both creative arts and technology and allows her to be innovative. She is involved in all architectural phases, including the construction phase. Mary brings a freshness of ideas, enthusiasm for learning and new design trends to Shapiro & Company Architects. She is also an active member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA).

Michael Haden

Michael dreamed of life as an architect from a young age. This lifelong passion has fueled Michael to become an instrumental figure in shaping the growth of Shapiro & Company over the last 19 years. As a leader in the firm, Michael has been a proven mentor and trainer whose sociable personality makes him skilled at communicating with all clients and colleagues. He is responsible for developing a shared vision and fostering a high-quality project, and in doing so has successfully executed nearly $1 billion worth of multifamily construction. An expert in residential architecture, Michael has shaped a demonstrated mastery of techniques and an ability to consistently deliver design enhancements with solutions to drive client satisfaction and loyalty. He thrives on challenging himself to get better with each project; allowing him to expand his knowledge and grow as an architect. The only thing Michael loves more than designing residential architecture is traveling around the World. The time he feels most at home is, ironically enough, when he is away from home experiencing new places. Michael is also a die-hard Florida Gators fan and loves to travel to venues across the country to watch his Gators play.

Reid Cullers

In Reid's over 15 years at Shapiro & Company Architects, he has been given a myriad of challenging project types including senior housing, Multi-Family housing, affordable housing, and high-end residential homes. He has managed over $765 million worth of Multi-Family Construction, with $180 million on the boards. As Senior Project Manager, Reid provides team support by navigating building code and accessibility compliance along with diving into the challenges of construction detailing. Staff seek out his leadership and knowledge to ensure high-quality projects are delivered on time and within budget. Reid has been very successful in his 23 years of working in architecture, however his proudest professional accomplishment was having a disabled woman thank him for designing her an accessible apartment unit designed to fit her needs making the time and effort towards the project design absolutely worth it. Reid is an active participant in numerous national and regional building-related conferences and seminars throughout the year. He is also an active member of the 55+ Housing Industry Council, Project Management Institute and the West Tennessee Home Builders Association. Reid loves to spend time at the properties he designs after their completion to meet the tenants and gain feedback and understanding of how they interact with his designs on a day-to-day basis. His proudest moments come when he meets tenants whose lives have been positively affected by his design. When he is out of the office, Reid would like to say you can find him in the crowd of a Dave Matthews Band concert. However, it is far more likely he would be found at a cheerleading competition rooting on one of his daughters.

Samuel Carrera

He recently moved to Memphis due to its dynamic culture and arts where he can establish his professional career as a designer to make unique and beautiful dream homes come to life. He is pursuing his licensure and is eager to learn more about making beautiful unique architecture for clients. During his free time, Samuel enjoys drinking coffee, thrifting and taking care of plants. He has a dog and cat, Akela & Ollie, that he loves dearly!

Sarah Etienne

As she grew in her career, Sarah realized that residential design gives you a window into the lives of those for whom you design. A home can tell you how they relax, how they socialize, and how the family operates day to day. Sarah is passionate about understanding these family dynamics and designing custom homes that fit each family's unique lifestyle perfectly. Her penchant for designing optimal floor plans goes beyond pen and paper. Sarah loves rolling up her sleeves to tackle home improvement projects of all sizes, from painting and decorating to bringing out the power tools and ripping down walls. After the dust has settled, you can find her on the back porch with a cold margarita and her three pets, Ellie (cat), Rousey (boxer), and Minnie (great dane).

Scott Baker

Scott has been with Shapiro & Company Architects since 2000 and remains central to the firm's ongoing success. His devotion to detail allows him to bring his clients' distinct vision to life. As Associate Studio Director, Scott manages Custom Residential projects. He coordinates all aspects of his assigned projects and estimates the scope of work. Scott creates the project design and plans for all phases. He also coordinates building design consultants while monitoring and preparing drawings. Scott also serves as the client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client's satisfaction. It is Scott's desire to better understand the client in order to build them the home of their dreams. While he actively manages all of his clients' needs, Scott also promotes the firm's vision, mission, core values, and long-range plans both internally and to the public.
