David Green

David has worked for more than twenty years in the public sector at both State and Federal level, with experience across a broad range of industry sectors including sport and recreation, transport, investment attraction and tourism. As a Principal Commercial Analyst at Queensland Rail, David managed rail access agreements, commercial revenue generation and transport services contracts. As Manager of the Commercial Analysis Unit, Sport and Recreation Services in the State Government, David led a team in development of sport infrastructure projects and proposals. His experience includes feasibility studies, facility planning and management, business planning, financial analysis, contract management and procurement. Through his employment in Sport and Tourism in the Federal Government, David was involved in tourism policy development, management of grant funding and management of the Regional Tourism Program. David's experience provides him with the ability to recognise the needs of stakeholders, grasping complex ideas quickly and responding decisively with practical solutions tailored to the needs of his clients. David has a personal interest in the development and sustainable growth of community level sport and leisure facilities. Nathan Gray

Nathan is an experienced strategic management executive who has worked across multiple. Nathan initially worked in the leisure industry, managing both golf courses and recreation centres, coordinating swimming programs and working as a professional beach lifeguard. As a management consultant he has prepared leisure strategies, feasibility studies, business plans, economic development strategies, management audits and international management projects. He has undertaken assignments in all states of Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and South America.

Phillip Gray - Managing Director

Phillip has worked in the leisure industry since 1977 when he joined the Department of Youth Sport and Recreation (Victoria). After four years in local government as a senior manager responsible for all recreation, leisure and community services, he established Phillip Gray and Associates, the fore runner of SGL, in 1988. With Michael King, he established both the Australian and New Zealand operations of SGL Consulting Group. Phillip is an experienced leisure planner and management consultant who has undertaken many leisure plans, feasibility studies, business plans, management audits and prepared a number of management contracts. He has undertaken assignments in all states of Australia and New Zealand. He brings practical advice to his assignments as a result of his involvement in two other companies. He is also Chief Executive Officer of Casa Leisure which manages public leisure, aquatic and sports centres and a golf course. He was previously Managing Director of Belair Management Services, a public unlisted company which managed five public golf courses. Phillip has been involved in all areas of leisure planning and management and has special skills in market research, strategic planning, management planning, policy evaluation and situation analysis. Steve Bramley

Steve is a 30-year sport, leisure and funding professional, with former roles including Chief Executive of Sport Northland, Chief Executive of the Millennium Institute of Sport and Health, Chairman of Touch New Zealand and Vice President of the Federation of International Touch. Steve has also been a member of the Fundraising Institute New Zealand for over 15 years. During his sport and leisure career, he has been involved with the planning, development, capital funding and/or management of over 100 major projects. He has had an extensive and proven successful track record in the strategic leadership, leisure planning and business feasibility, capital funding and overall project management for a large number of community development projects. Steve is the founding Director of SGL Funding. SGL Funding has combined leisure planning and the principles of fundraising, and working alongside several local authorities, has developed comprehensive community-wide leisure planning and funding strategies. Steve also has considerable experience in the events industry and was a former Director of the Ellerslie International Flower Show (when based in Auckland), and a former Director of the Auckland Marathon.
