Our first product was on sale for a week when Apple announced the switch from the 30-pin connector to Lightning®. Since our product was modular, we were able to offer an upgrade kit for products with 30-pin electronics. This was very well received by our customers. Our 9.7" iPad sDock Air was compatible with 6 different iPads after 6 years! Of course, this was also a stroke of luck... Developing products with a long lifespan is challenging for accessories for mobile devices and computers, as phones and tablets change quickly. We want to enable updates or upgrades of the products so that the user can use the products for as long as possible. For the design of the products, this means looking for a sensible modular structure, screwing instead of gluing...
