Abby Anastasio

This is the mantra that guides project architect Abby Anastasio's professional and personal life. As a proud mother of two, Abby understands that every day is not going to be perfect, but what is important is putting your best foot forward every single day. This is why we are so happy to have her on the team! With over 12 years of experience in her role, Abby is responsible for leading and managing the architectural team's day-to-day project design, communication, research and more. Some of her favorite projects have included primary and middle schools for Chillicothe, Beavercreek and Sycamore.

Abdullah Gerasimov

Job Titles:
  • Project Designer
In his current role as a project designer, "Abdullah" Maksym Gerasimov spends his time assisting both the project architect and project manager with day-to-day activities such as building design and modeling, drafting and troubleshooting, among other tasks. Passion for the architectural industry is a constant in Adbullah's life, whether he is at work or in his leisure time. He loves the idea of bettering himself by becoming a lifelong learner and is keen to learn more about his profession and other disciplines with the goal of producing better quality work that suits the needs of our clients.

Adam Plaver

Job Titles:
  • Electrical Engineer
Adam Plaver is an electrical engineer responsible for designing and engineering electrical and lighting systems for various SHP projects. Though his career may be young, it is easy to see the enthusiasm he has for the industry and his passion for serving the community. While earning his bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering, Adam spent several years gaining experience at the co-op level at various architectural and engineering firms, including SHP. Now, with the team full-time, we are excited to see how he will help us fulfill our mission to create, inspire and strengthen.

Allison McKenzie

Job Titles:

  • Vice President / Director of Environmental Responsibility
After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 2006, SHP director of sustainability, Allison McKenzie, quickly found a home with SHP, and has now worked her way to the top of her department. In her current role, she balances her responsibilities as an architect and project manager while also working to establish SHP as a leader in sustainable design. When she looks back on her career in 20 years or so - maybe longer, if we have anything to do with it! - Allison wants to be able to see the impact she made on specific projects that affected the people in her community in a meaningful way. Designing a building that someone remembers for a lifetime because it made their life better is her ultimate goal. But at the end of the day, Allison could not be as remarkable as she is without her biggest fan, her Airedale Terrier (Cue the collective, "Awwwww!").

Annie Morman

Annie Morman is a recent graduate from Miami University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, despite it being virtual due to COVID-19, and began her career with SHP shortly after, in January 2021. In this role, Annie is responsible for supporting senior designers to design and detail the look, feel, functionality, and safety of the projects we work on. What she may lack in experience is made up for in the determination and passion she has for interior design.

Austin Lueder

Austin Lueder is a skillful and talented project designer who joined the SHP team with a great deal of experience in the design industry already under his belt. Still, he is constantly trying to better his design skills and, as a lifelong learner, aims to better his understanding of the industry, the community he is involved with and how he can be the greatest version of himself. Austin is responsible for delivering and communicating design solutions to SHP clients in a variety of spatial categories. From athletic facilities to office spaces, he is always looking for the best possible design principles to apply to a client's specific needs and desires.

Bobby Hintz

Job Titles:

If you have ever met architect Bobby Hintz, then you most certainly know his passion for architecture and design. The Ohio State graduate has spent the last several years working with some of the best designers in the Cincinnati area to perfect his craft and help aid his community. Now, with SHP, he is responsible for designing our projects and communicating the design outlook to our clients. This puts him front and center with clients and gives him the opportunity to "wow" them and the people that will interact with our architecture.

She is a passionate advocate for mentoring and training of young talent and working with architects and designers to increase their skills and improve the firm's overall project processes. Brandi's exceptional client service and attention to detail make her an invaluable member of SHP's leadership team. She has served two terms on the City of Covington Urban Design Review Board which promotes the preservation and protection of historic architecture in the community.

Brian Lutz

There are some people for whom "getting into the weeds" is a pleasure and a joy. Self-described "technical nerd," Brian Lutz is one of them. Good thing, too, since - in his role as a technical design leader - Brian is responsible for overseeing overall specifications, quality assurance and technical design for projects of all sizes generated out of our Columbus office. An associate of the firm, Brian has also proven himself to be a helping hand wherever possible.. Whether it's through relaying a past experience or sharing an article or product reference, he derives great satisfaction from helping to bolster a co-worker's design decision-making process.

Cari Sass - CMO

Job Titles:
  • Director of Marketing
Director of Marketing, Cari Sass, is an organized and creative leader who is not afraid to face a challenge. She has a proven track record of galvanizing a group to achieve even more than what they set out to accomplish and does so in a fun and lively manner. In her current role, Cari is tasked with interview strategy, studio marketing strategies, managing and coordinating social media efforts, and overall branding for SHP. But what exhilarates her most is being able to call SHP home.

Carrie Malatesta

  • Vice President, Interior Design
Carrie has been with SHP for over 20 years and now holds the title of Director of Interior Design. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring all indoor space projects are functional, safe, and beautiful for her clients, while also managing the interior design group with any projects they may be working on. Her experience in the field and passion for what she does make her a core part of our team. Throughout her career, Carrie has had the opportunity to work on a number of interesting and impactful projects. But her favorite part of the job is the opportunity she has to be a mentor and a leader for budding professionals. Leadership "Mentoring younger designers and being a resource for them has always been a highlight in my career," said Carrie. "I love when they come to me with issues they are having because it's a learning opportunity for both of us!"

Cassidy Rodgers

In her role, Cassidy's primary responsibilities are to progress the ideas and direction of a project from start to finish in order to execute SHP's design vision successfully. She enjoys the fact that she coordinates with all aspects of the project team to effectively bring a client's plans to life, but is overjoyed by the direct influence she and her team has on the way others interact with the spaces and people around them. When not hard at work, Cassidy is either at home relaxing and catching up on tv shows (or re-watching her favorite shows for the 100th time), hanging out with her friends and family, or playing indoor soccer.

Clayton Milner

Job Titles:
  • Mechanical Engineer
Clayton has been in the engineering department at SHP since January 2019, where he was a part of our co-op program for one year. Since then, he has been hired full-time and has the daily responsibilities of designing and engineering domestic water systems, sanitary systems for various buildings and more. Clayton has accomplished a great deal in his young career. His favorite project-so far-was the E.H. Greene Intermediate School in Sycamore, which was the first time he designed an entire building's plumbing system.

Dan Roberts

  • Client Relationship Manager
Business development manager, Dan Roberts, has been known around the office to drop whatever he is doing to help a colleague, he is always offering advice to younger team members and he simply works to make his coworkers' lives a little bit easier. In his position, Dan is responsible for building trust and positive, productive relationships with current and prospective clients all with a smile on his face! Before beginning his career with SHP, Dan spent many years working in the Ohio school system, as a coach, a teacher and even a superintendent. After moving on from the education world, Dan wanted to continue to forge his path that began with a passion for education by becoming SHP's education specialist for business development.

Daryn Meadows

  • Mechanical Engineer
Daryn spent several years fine-tuning his craft as an engineer and achieved E.I.T status, before joining SHP, where he is responsible for the creation and completion of various plumbing project designs. This typically includes specifying plumbing equipment, performing calculations and much more. While this may seem tedious and time-consuming to some, Daryn looks at his job like he is solving puzzles all day long. He loves the feeling of having completed a task, and finally getting to bask in the glory of his hard work.

David Hammitt

If you know anything about mechanical engineer David Hammitt, then you know he has an unbeatable work ethic that has been a defining feature of his career. No matter his title, David has always prided himself on working hard as a way to serve the end-users, and to propel his team and the firm further. Before joining SHP, David spent a significant amount of time working in the field to perfect his craft. In his current role, David is responsible for the design and documentation of HVAC systems for various SHP projects, but what excites him most about his work is having the opportunity to flex his creative muscles regularly.

David Powell

With over 25 years of experience, senior project manager David Powell has held a wide variety of positions within the AEC industry. Now, in addition to traditional architectural and project management tasks, he works to infuse our Columbus office with the same entrepreneurial and innovative spirit he's learned throughout his career. David's passion for the architecture industry is unmatched and unwavering, which is demonstrated through his work on a daily basis.

Elizabeth Heinbach

If you have ever had the pleasure of knowing mechanical engineer, Elizabeth Heinbach, then you know the resilient and determined mindset that she shows up with day-in and day-out. In her role, Elizabeth is tasked with designing hvac systems for various projects. Her primary responsibilities are energy modeling and system design in Revit, but what excites her most is the variability in her duties on a day-to-day basis.

Joe Faiola

Job Titles:
  • Electrical Engineer
Electrical engineer, Joe Faiola, joined the firm in May 2021 after building a portfolio of work for residential, laboratory, higher education, industrial, healthcare and restaurant projects. In his current role, Joe designs the electrical systems for various SHP projects, which includes everything from ensuring spaces have appropriate lighting levels, to providing the building with a suitably sized electrical service. While Joe's resume indicates he takes his work seriously, as his mantra goes, he doesn't take himself too seriously. This engineer loves staying active with his family - which includes big brother Jacob, a fellow Purdue graduate and SHP engineer - proving smarts and good taste run in the family!

Tom Poff

If we were to use one word to describe Tom Poff, it would be "teacher." Educating the next generation of SHP designers and engineers is the reason Tom gets out of bed in the morning. For over 30 years, Tom has perfected his skills as an electrical designer. His portfolio spans everything from amusement parks - including his all-time favorite project, renovating Cedar Point's Steel Vengeance roller coaster - to healthcare. And, as he says, he is enjoying every moment of his journey.
