Being initially employed at a print company, we realized early on that small businesses and start-ups were required to pay robust prices for necessary marketing materials. When we were asked to pay $109 for 1000 business cards (a substantial cost in 2003), we were puzzled by the dilemma that start-ups were facing. How were they to cover all of the costs associated with starting up a business? That prompted us to want to offer something more. Something better.
