Joseph Caldarola, president, inherited the tradition of fine Italian design and craftsmanship from his father, a first generation Italian American from Old Molfetta in Perugia , Italy . From an early age, Joe was taught the fundamentals of nearly every construction and mechanical trade, as well as the importance of quality and customer service.
Joe brings 32 years of experience in home building and energy systems to the Smithfield Construction mission. He began his work in energy efficient construction in 1976 as a Vista Volunteer in West Virginia . He founded and directed a nonprofit to build and manufacture housing kits for inexpensive, super-insulated homes. Joe is licensed by the State of Massachusetts as a Construction Supervisor Un-Restricted, by the State of New Hampshire as a Gas Service Technician for Natural Gas and Propane, and by the international Ground Source Heat Pump Association as an Accredited Installer.
