Dr. Erik Stein

Dr. Erik Stein studied technical cybernetics at the University of Stuttgart and received his doctorate from the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg in the field of modelling and optimisation in process engineering. During his doctoral period he was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Magdeburg. After his doctorate, Dr. Stein worked as a project engineer in the field of automation technology at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. In 2007 he joined the patent department of BASF. Since 2016 Dr. Stein is a patent assessor at BASF as well as a German patent attorney and European Patent and Trademark Attorney in private practice. Dr. Stein has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2007. His work focuses on patent grant and opposition proceedings. He also provides expert opinions and advises on technology cooperation and licensing agreements. The cases that Dr. Stein handles span a wide range of industries, including mechanical engineering, process engineering and medical technology. He is particularly interested in issues of automation, including by means of artificial intelligence, as well as nano- and quantum-technological inventions.

Dr. Stefan Rolf Huebner

Dr. Stefan Rolf Huebner studied Physics and Biophysics at Harvard University, USA, at the University of Oxford, England, and at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. He obtained his doctorate with work in the field of nanobiotechnology. Prior to specialising in intellectual property he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. in their high-tech practice, a research assistant at Munich's university hospital, the Klinikum rechts der Isar, and a research fellow at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Huebner is qualified both as a German patent attorney and as a European Patent and Trademark Attorney. He received his training in intellectual property law at the University of Munich and at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property. He worked in patent law firms in Germany and Japan before setting up his own practice.

Horst Lehmann

Horst Lehmann studied Physics at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, majoring in Solid State Physics, Semiconductor Physics and Biophysics. After graduation, he joined the patent department of IBM in Stuttgart, where in 1999 he qualified as a German Patent and Trademark Attorney. Since 2001 he is also admitted as a Professional Representative before the European Patent Office in Munich. In 2002 Horst Lehmann entered private practice.

Michael Schaub

Michael Schaub has extensive experience in the development of intellectual property strategies including the design of intellectual property portfolios, the establishing of co-operations for the development and exploitation of intellectual property, the marketing of intellectual property rights for profit, and technology scouting. A perticular focus of his work is in the fields of information and communication technology, new mobility and artificial intelligence.
