Barbara Cameron

Barbara Cameron, veterinary technician, was born and raised in Connecticut. She and her husband, Nelson, followed their lifelong dream and moved from Sterling, Connecticut to Sterling, Alaska in 2005. She joined our staff in August 2005. The Cameron household includes 3 dogs, Aleutia, Kiana, and Citori, and 2 cats, Tundra and Walter.

Dr. Grady Austin

My name is Grady Austin, I graduated from the UAF / CSU DVM program this May and joining the Soldotna Animal Hospital team in July. My family includes my wife, Tamaira, our son, Rhonan, our four dogs and a cat. I've lived in Alaska for ten years, I enjoy all of the outdoor activities Alaska offers and I'm excited to be back. I hope to provide the peninsula with exceptional veterinary care. Eventually I would like to provide large animal services to the community as well as supporting the local 4-h chapter.

Dr. Katie Sessions Browning

Dr. Katie Sessions Browning grew up in Grand Bay, Alabama on a family farm. She practiced in Mobile, Alabama for three years before moving to Soldotna in June 2005. Katie lives with her husband Wes, her daughter Bailey and their two dogs, Preacher and Beau. Dr. Katie received her Bachelor of science degree in Animal and Dairy Sciences from Auburn University College of Agriculture in 1998. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She has been a small animal practitioner since 2002. Dr. Katie's special interests include soft tissue and cosmetic surgery and bull dogs of any sort.

Dr. Marie (Meezie) Hermansen

Dr. Marie "Meezie" Hermansen was born in Soldotna and raised in Cohoe. She grew up in her family's commercial fishing set-net site, where she still spends her days off in the summer as well as her vacation time. Dr. Hermansen graduated from SoHi, earned a bachelor's degree from Pacific University in Oregon, and graduated from Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She returned home to Soldotna after graduation to start the career she loves in the place she loves. She joined the Soldotna Animal Hospital staff in November 1999. Dr. Hermansen enjoys small animal medicine, with special interest in ultrasound.

Lisa Duke

A lifelong resident of the Kenai Peninsula, Lisa and her Husband Dan have raised their family in the area and are known for having a house full of dogs at all times. After a long career in the auto industry Lisa's love of animals brought her to Soldotna Animal Hospital in 2017 where she couldn't feel more at home helping clients provide loving care for their beloved family members. The Duke household currently is run by three Cocker Spaniels, Snoopy, Sammy & Oscar, one Golden Doodle, Sophie and a diva of a black lab named Jett. There are also four rescue cats roaming the residence that go mostly unseen due to the diligence of the guard Spaniels.

My name is Lisa, I moved to Alaska in 2020 and started at Soldotna Animal Hospital in March of 2021. I have worked as a Veterinary Technician since 1992 in New England. I have a 10 year old Labrador named Myra. I look forward to meeting you.

Michelle M. McDonald

Michelle M. McDonald relocated with her daughter July of 2012 from Kodiak, Alaska where she plans to call the kenai Peninsula her home. Born and raised in Oregon. She has been working as a Veterinary Technician for 16 years. In 2015 Michelle was promoted to Hospital Manager. Michelle and her daughter enjoy hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking and other outdoor activities with their 3 dogs Max, Charlee and Nita.
