Soil Consultants, Inc. was founded in 1951 to provide geotechnical engineering and materials testing services in the Charleston area. Since its formation, SCI has expanded its service scope to include contract drilling, nondestructive testing, and limited environmental consulting services (Phase 1 ESA). Our geographic service area also has expanded from the Charleston area to include all of South Carolina and portions of Georgia and North Carolina... Throughout our history, Soil Consultants, Inc. has been a community leader in engineering and in civic service. With timeless core values and exemplary staff, we remain committed to providing technically excellent services on time and in budget. Stewardship of the firm is provided by M. Brian Johnson, who became president in 2001. Before 2001, stewardship of the firm was provided by our founder, Wm. Kenneth Johnson, PE, who served as president between 1951 and 2001.
