Bradley Lorin Lomax

Bradley Lorin Lomax, son of the late Lorin S. and June A. (March) Lomax was born on March 4, 1955 and his life on earth ended on March 4, 2024, his birthday. He grew up on the west side of Saint John and enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood there. He attended Saint John High School and the leadership of Mr. Knibb, the principal whom he valued as a mentor. He married Sharon (Porter) Lomax and they had two children: Bradley Lorin Jr. and Tanya. Sharon (Porter) Lomax, Brad's wife passed away in 2012. Bradley Sr. has a grandson: Bentley Lorin Lomax who is five years old. His grandfather has been a great favorite of this little Bentley. They spent many happy hours together. One year at Halloween, both Grandad Brad and Grandson Bentley had the same skeleton outfits, one bigger than the other! Brad is also survived by two brothers: Jamie Malloy of Saint John NB and Bruce (Giselle) Lomax of Grand Bay -Westfield NB as well as his sister Wanda (Glen) Adams of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Brad is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins and an aunt. Brad had a magnificent white beard! Often in stores, children would ask their parents, "Is that Santa Claus?" Brad played the part kindly and gently whenever he could, with the authentic " Ho Ho Ho"! A few years after his wife Sharon's passing, Bradley was attending a dance at the Fundy Bay 50 Plus Club and asked Maxine Card to dance. They are both good dancers. They began seeing each other and soon became a couple. They have been very happy together! Brad was an extremely helpful man to many, many people. He was so good to everyone! For years he worked for Myra and Hal on the wharves, with the divers, doing many jobs including filling the divers' air tanks. Also Brad dug for clams, dragged for scallops, fished lobster and so on... A "Jack of all trades", he also worked at New River Beach Provincial Park for a number of years. Brad and Maxine had two wonderful friends, Dave and Annette, who often came to visit from New Zealand. Brad and Maxine traveled to New Zealand to visit them and to travel around touring. Brad loved swimming in the warm sea water, parasailing, eating "real kiwi's" and fishing with Dave. On their journey to and from New Zealand they had lovely visits with some of Maxine's relatives in British Columbia. Brad also loved to do puzzles. He was meticulously clever at quickly putting the hard parts together, like the sky or the sea where the pieces looked alike the most. He also was hooked on Sudoku puzzles and could do them faster than almost anyone. He was a great bingo player. (The only time I ever won at bingo was when Brad played my cards while I was cooking hot dogs.) He had some favorite T.V programs such as Jeopardy, Oak Island, Wheel of Fortune as well as watching curling. He was content to watch movies occasionally. Bradley enjoyed sitting in Pocologan watching the sea, the waves, the sea life, changes in the weather and activity on, or in the water. He enjoyed eating his favorite foods: scallops and chocolate cake with boiled frosting. Bradley had lots of good friends. He and Maxine belonged to "The Gang", a special group of good friends. They would go to the music jams in Blacks Harbour on weekends and out to supper, dinner and dance in St. Andrews, music jams in Bayside on Sunday afternoons and overnights in St. Andrews, up for any adventure.
