Spectra began business in 1978 as a software vendor for Basic Four Computer Systems. We specialized in Custom Accounting software and integration between different types of hardware. We integrated MSI Hand Held data entry devices with mini computers and store and forward cash registers with mini computers... In the early 1980's Spectra began selling UNIX based systems from Fortune, UNISYS and others. We continued to provide custom software along with the hardware we were selling. We developed a route accounting system for Norarnd Hand Held Computers in C and integrated it with our Accounting Software. This application is used mostly by Coffee and small Merchandise Distributors. We also have applications for Medical Billing and Property Management ... As a testament to our work we still have some of the same customers that started with us in the late 1970's.
