Charlie Guido

As the Vice President of the Structures Maintenance Department, Charlie is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of 25 to 30 active projects for various state and local agencies. His responsibilities include oversight of project management teams, administrative staff and field personnel; project staffing and scheduling; project planning, execution, cost management and safety; review of construction drawings, procurement and accounts receivable and payable; implementation of standard operating procedures; development and maintenance of relationships with state and local officials, subcontractors and vendors.

Christopher J. Groth

Christopher has over 32 years of experience in the design and construction of Heavy/Civil structures and roadways. Christopher has executive responsibility for all aspects of construction contracting including cost estimating and bidding, cost control, procurement and contract negotiations, field operations, project management, scheduling, safety/risk management and quality control. Since joining SPS in 1996 as an Estimator, his role has included VP of Total Quality Management, VP of Estimating and VP of Project Management. His current focus is on the company's contract pursuits and preconstruction planning and he maintains an integral role in our design-build ventures, value engineering, alternative technical concepts and ABC/innovative construction techniques. He is an inaugural member of SPS's Safety Committee and TQM Committee. Christopher holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Delaware.

Clare B. Burhoe - Chief Legal Officer

Clare joined SPS as Corporate Counsel in January of 2008. She is responsible for contracts, claims and disputes, HR compliance, litigation support and oversight, business and real estate acquisitions, and all other legal matters for SPS and its affiliated companies. Prior to joining SPS, Clare spent 11 years with Lawson & Weitzen, LLP in Boston, three of which as a partner, practicing in the areas of environmental law and general litigation. Clare received a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and a B.S. from Boston University.

Daniel P. Batterton

Dan serves as Vice President of Finance for SPS New England, Inc. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Prior to his employment with SPS, Dan served as Vice President of Finance for SPI Distribution, Inc.

Eric Johnson

Eric serves as Sr. Vice President of Construction, responsible for management of the day to day operations on all construction projects, including oversight of the project management teams, maximizing profitability, and maintaining solid working relationships with owners, subcontractors, vendors and stakeholders. He began his career with Kiewit Eastern in 1989 and throughout his career has managed projects for the MWRA, Connecticut DOT, Massport, MassDOT and the Central Artery Tunnel Project. For nearly three decades he has been involved in estimating, bidding, contract negotiation, scheduling, and all phases of management for Transportation, Tunnel, Marine, Demolition and Utility projects ranging from $5M to $250M. He holds an OSHA 30 hour training certificate, 40 hour Hazwoper, and certificates in several other areas of safety training. Eric earned a B.S. in Construction Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Eric also serves on SPS New England's Executive Committee.

James A. Roncone

As Chief Estimator, Jim is responsible for obtaining new projects in line with SPS New England Inc.'s long range goals and growth objectives, as well as developing an already-successful estimating team into a multi-faceted department capable of alternate project delivery methods. Jim holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering, and has more than two decades of experience in the heavy highway construction industry.

John M. Kingsley

As the Managing Director of Information Technology, John is responsible for all aspects of the company's technology; including security, enterprise systems, infrastructure, and operations. He joined SPS in 2019 to define and implement an updated IT vision, focused on transforming the company's use of technology. This vision drives the strategic use and implementation of IT to differentiate SPS and support the company's long-range goals and growth objectives. John is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from WPI and an MBA from Suffolk University. Prior to joining the SPS team, John held leadership positions in the engineering and technology functions at VHB and AECOM.

Karen J. Capolupo Douglas - CHRO, Treasurer

Karen is the Treasurer, Clerk and Human Resources Director of SPS New England, Inc. She co-founded SPS in 1984. From 1984 until 1988 she served as the chief executive officer of the company.

Mark B. McLellan

Mark serves as Senior Vice President of Structures Maintenance. He joined the company in 1989 as a laborer and worked his way through various departments to become Vice President and Safety Officer in 1998. He has completed numerous safety training programs including the OSHA 500 Instructor Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards, and the 100 hour construction site safety technician training from NCCER. Mark holds a B.S. in Business Management from Bentley College. Mark also serves on SPS New England's Executive Committee.

Philip J. Capolupo - President

Phil is President of SPS New England, Inc. and is responsible for the day-to-day executive administration of the company. He began his career performing nuclear decontamination services as a project manager for Capolupo & Gundal, Inc. He co-founded SPS New England in 1984. Phil is licensed as a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor and holds his Class C Hoisting License.

Robert A. Naftoly - EVP

As Executive Vice President, Bob is responsible for all phases of the company's operations, with special emphasis on long-range goals, growth, and profit. He provides leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of construction throughout the company, including overseeing the management and staffing of all projects, development of policies that align with the company's goals, and all aspects of risk management. Bob also serves on SPS New England's Executive Committee, which is responsible for establishing strategic direction and making key decisions for the growth and well being of the company. Bob joined the company as a project manager in 1997, and prior to his current position served as Vice President for Project Management. Bob has worked in the Massachusetts construction industry for more than 2 decades.

Robert B. Gemmell

Bob serves as Senior Vice President of Cost Control, responsible for the oversight and management of SPS's daily cost tracking system His previous roles with SPS include Sr. VP of Total Quality Management (2012-2017); Sr. VP of Design Build (2008-2011); and Senior Vice President of Estimating and Job Cost Control (1995-2007). He joined SPS in 1990 as a project manager and has worked in New England's construction industry for more than 3 decades. Bob holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from New England College and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. Bob also serves on SPS New England's Executive Committee.

Timothy P. McLaughlin

Tim was appointed Senior Vice President for Business Development in January, 2012. Tim's prior roles include Senior Vice President for Design Build and Senior Vice President for Construction Operations since 1997. He joined the company as a Project Manager in 1994 after serving with the Massachusetts Highway Department for 11 years as a Construction Engineer. Tim is a licensed Professional Engineer who holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering / Construction Management from Northeastern University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Merrimack College. Tim also serves on SPS New England's Executive Committee.

Wayne P. Capolupo - CEO, Chairman

Wayne is Chairman and CEO of SPS New England, Inc. He has overseen the company's growth since co-founding SPS in 1984. Previously, Wayne worked for Capolupo & Gundal, Inc., a specialty contracting firm whose clients were almost exclusively nuclear power generating stations owned by electric utilities. Wayne is licensed as a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor and holds a M.S. and B.S. in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He is active in a variety of civic and professional organizations.

William A. Timmons

As the Corporate Safety Manager for SPS New England, Inc. Bill is responsible for all aspects of occupational safety, health, and regulatory compliance for SPS New England and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining the SPS team, Bill was the Senior Health & Safety Advisor for Florida Power & Light at Seabrook Station for 14 years. He administered all aspects of the safety program, including OSHA compliance, injury management, oversight of new construction, and demolition projects for a workforce of 650 direct employees and 600 contractors. Bill also served on the Kingston Fire Department in Kingston, NH for more than 30 years. He is a paid-call firefighter and EMT.
