George Giokas had a long and successful career as a journalist for one of the top newspapers in the country before launching StaffWriters Plus in 1995. He has a long history of community involvement and has received numerous service awards for his participation on boards and committees, including the Long Island Software and Technology Network (LISTnet) and others. Giokas has also served as Chairman of HealthDay, one of the nation's leading providers of health news and information. An adjunct on the Journalism faculty of Stony Brook University and graduate of the Screenwriting Professional Program of UCLA's School of Film, Theater and Television, he is also the author of the young adult novel, Nickel Ice.
