David Chan

Dr. Chan is a fellowship trained, Board Certified Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon. He is a native Floridian, Chinese-American whose immigrant parents have given him the opportunity to pursue his interests in helping those in his community live a better quality of life. His interests include minimally invasive techniques such as endoscopic carpal tunnel release and wrist arthroscopy, as well as treating other common maladies such as hand and wrist arthritis, trigger fingers, Dupuytren's contractures, tendon ruptures, and cysts. Prior to attending medical school at the University of Florida, Dr. Chan practiced as a Senior Physical Therapist at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Medical Center for 5 years. It was there rehabilitating victims of head trauma and spinal cord injured quadriplegics that he learned the importance of hand function for independence and quality of life. He went on to complete a hand surgery fellowship at the prestigious Philadelphia Hand Center / Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Derek J. Cuff

Dr. Cuff has an interest in shoulder and elbow surgery specializing in shoulder and elbow replacement as well as minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures. In 2012 Dr. Cuff was elected to the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society. He is one of a small group of surgeons in the state of Florida to be given this honor and he is the only surgeon in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties to attain Active Member Status in this organization. He has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed international journals on the topics of shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Cuff has received several research awards for his work in this field including the prestigious Charles Neer Award which was presented to him in 2011 by the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons for outstanding clinical research. Edmund G. Witkowski

Edmund Witkowski, MD has been a partner with Suncoast Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine since the year 2000. He is fellowship trained in both Sports Medicine and Adult Reconstruction surgery (Joint Replacement) and is the only orthopaedic surgeon in the Venice and Englewood area with fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction/Joint Replacement. His years in practice with Suncoast Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group, and the U.S. military have given him extensive experience in complex fracture care, joint replacement and revision surgery, and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery.

Javier Guzman

Dr. Guzman is a fellowship trained Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Reconstructive surgeon. He is a native of South West Florida, and grew up in Charlotte county. He specializes in state of the art and proven treatments for conditions such as ankle arthritis, fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, flat feet, complex foot deformities, as well as sports related injuries such as Achilles tendon ruptures, ankle sprains, and stress fractures. He is also trained in minimally invasive techniques for conditions such as hallux valgus(bunion) correction. He has published numerous peer reviewed articles on conditions of the foot and ankle as well as other conditions in orthopedic surgery. He is fluent in English and Spanish. He completed his medical training at Icahn School of Medicine, Mt Sinai, New York City, NY, where he graduated with distinction in Research. Following medical school, he completed his Orthopaedic surgery residency at Mt Sinai, and then complete his fellowship at the prestigious Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Joseph Noah

Dr. Noah is the senior member of the group. He has a special interest in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery including unicompartmental knee replacement. During his training he spent time as an assistant team physician for both professional football and baseball teams and has published several articles on sports related injuries of the upper and lower extremity.
