Not only is Alan Robertson considered an institution in the New Zealand financial sector, he was instrumental in the founding of the New Zealand Mortgage Broker's Association.
Presenting a track record spanning more than 30 years, including with companies like Marac and General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Alan has worked in a raft of sectors from wholesale and retail motor vehicle finance, to plant and equipment and commercial property investment and development.
In 1986 he focussed on commercial finance broking and established in 1994 Property Pack Commercial - now Strata Funding, with particular expertise in long-term investment and development finance for commercial property. He has the respect of commercial lenders and strong relationships with trading banks and institutional lenders, not to mention access to a choice of alternative funding sources.
Alister has more than forty years' experience in finance and business consulting, with particular strengths in financial structuring, risk analysis, strategic planning and problem solving.
Beginning with the ANZ Bank in 1967, followed by the National Bank, Alister has occupied senior roles in organisations such as Finance Discounts Ltd (a subsidiary of Pyne Gould Guinness Corporation) and United Bank. He also established CBA Finance Ltd (the South Island's subsidiary finance company of the Commercial Bank of Australasia, now Westpac), Taurus Group and Castlemain Capital Limited.
Alister is also presently the chairman of a large Central North Island timber processor and it is his considerable experience as a director of several SME's that gives him a clear understanding of the issues relating to governance, management, succession and strategic planning for New Zealand SME's and their funding requirements.
John Chapman knows how to structure finance packages, having spent almost 25 years in the banking and financing sector after starting out in the commercial lending division of Westpac Banking Corporation.
