Alan E. Dones - CEO, Founder

ADCo | AlanDones.com Alan Dones, managing partner and co-founder of SUDA, LLC, specializing in large-scale, innovative, public agency projects and mixed-use development. He is a long-time entrepreneur, a licensed general engineering construction contractor, and community advocate of equal opportunity in employment and contracting. Mr. Dones is a co-founder, and served as CEO, of Rondeau Bay Construction, Inc. (RBC), an engineering and construction firm established in 1988. Under his leadership, RBC grew to include offices in five major US cities and completed over $70 million of construction projects. Mr. Dones is active in a number of local and national organizations and has worked with agencies throughout the United States to revise and enhance their small business policies. He is a current member of the City of Oakland's Workforce Investment Board; member of the Alameda County Health Care Foundation; past president of the Northern California Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors; member and former board member of the East Bay Conversion and Reinvestment Commission; and, former vice-chairman of the Oakland City Charter Committee.

Arthur Chen - Chief Legal Officer

Mr. Chen serves as a key contributor to SUDA, LLC through his role as legal counsel and advisor in general business and technical matters for the company. Mr. Chen's technical expertise has contributed to company success, including in the areas of corporate strategic planning, technical analysis, legal analysis, and project program management, and environmental, and renewable energy projects. Mr. Chen's past work experience includes roles as, Vice-President of Engineering, ICF Kaiser Engineers, Inc and CEO of Foothill Electric and Shawnee Company, a subsidiary of Kaiser Engineers. He also served as the Director of Physical Plant for the Peralta Community College District, where he oversaw development of the Vista College. His duties at Peralta also included oversight of all maintenance, ground facilities and personnel for four college campuses, utilizing a $153M bond measure. Mr. Chen holds a Bachelor and Masters Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering, from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University, School of Law. Mr. Chen is a member of the California Bar.

Bruce Moen

Bruce Moen is a project and construction management specialist with experience working for owner, contractor and consultant organizations. Experience includes management of engineering and construction projects in the building, highway, food, hospitality, industrial and general construction sectors. He has been responsible for coordination and control of engineering, procurement and construction activities on a variety of projects. Several unique projects involved historic renovation, seismic upgrade, and performing construction while maintaining owner's existing operations. Mr. Moen is a specialist in the selection of organizational and contracting approaches, and the implementation of the project control systems including planning, estimating, scheduling, cost engineering and earned value progress reporting. He is knowledgeable in the preparation and analysis of contract claims, and an experienced instructor of project management and construction related subjects. He is also experienced in computer applications in project management and a specialist in construction scheduling techniques. Mr. Moen earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, Stanford CA and an MS, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Stanford University. He has been is registered since 1980 in the State of California as a Civil Engineer Reg. #31974.

Edward S. Ayensu - Chairman

Professor Ayensu is a distinguished scientists, as well as President of the Pan-African Union of Science and Technology. He spent 20 years at the Smithsonian Institute, in Washington D.C. It was during this time that he became involved in the international governance of economic development and environmental conservation through science. He has been Secretary-General of the International Union of Biological Sciences and a Senior Advisor to the African Development Bank. Professor Ayensu obtained his doctorate at London University and was a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University. He is the Chairman of the Ghana National Biodiversity Committee, Member of the International Advisory Council on Global Scientific Communication, UNESCO, and Member of the Board of Directors and International Vice Chairman of the International Institute for Sustainable Development. A founding Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences, Professor Ayensu is also a Fellow of the Third World Academy of Science, Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy. He was a recipient of the Outstanding Scientist Award of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History, and twice the recipient of the Ghana National Science Award. He has published extensively in both scientific and popular journals. When he is not serving on committees of various international organizations, such as the World Bank, he explores his passion for natural history photography.

James Collier - COO, EVP

Mr. Collier comes with a 20-year history of senior and executive engineering management. His professional management background uniquely suits his role in helping to guide SUDA, as the company enters the national and international developer arena, following the success in Oakland, California. Mr. Collier holds a bachelor degree in Computer Information Systems and a MBA from Harvard Business School, where his training focused on entrepreneurial ventures including commercial real estate development and finance. In his prior position as Executive Vice President of Manager Technology, Mr. Collier led a product development and marketing effort that produce a successful and award-winning enterprise software product, for measuring profit performance. The software was named "1998 Hot Technology of the Year", by Industry Week. Mr. Collier is the founder of "Bike Against the Odds", an annual East Bay bike event of the Breast Cancer Fund, that has raised over $250,000 to identify and eliminate the man-made causes of the disease. He also serves on the Board of Managers of the Oakland Downtown YMCA.

John Aidoo

Mr. Aidoo brings to SUDA 35 years of experience in the design, construction management and maintenance of port, harbor and airport facilities. Mr. Aidoo has served for over 10 years as Chief Engineer for the Port of Oakland, the fourth largest container port in the United States. Prior to assuming the duties of Chief Engineer, he served the Port of Oakland as maritime and airport designer; manager of design, construction and maintenance of port infrastructure. He has also served as manager for procurement, construction management and maintenance of container cranes. As Chief Engineer, he has been responsible for the design and construction of the port's intermodal rail facilities which allow for quick and relatively seamless transfer and movement of container cargo from Oakland, on the west coast, to cities in the eastern section of the United States. Mr. Aidoo is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California, and received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of San Francisco. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Permanent International Association of Navigational Congresses (PIANC).

John L. Guillory - Founder

John Guillory is an accomplished senior executive, business and community leader, expert in maximizing investment performance. He currently serves as the company's Director of Real Estate Services. John's success is as a result of clarity of vision, creative problem solving, an extensive relationship network, well developed leadership and team building skills. His more than 30 years of industry knowledge in real estate practice, sales, marketing and operations is a great asset to SUDA. The one-time National Football League defensive back is a graduate of Stanford University; Guillory later earned an MBA from Pepperdine College and a Juris Doctor of Law degree from San Francisco Law School. For the past decade Guillory has served as President and CEO of Northbridge Group, Inc., a real estate firm serving corporations, institutions and government agencies. Northbridge clients include GE Capital Advisors, Children's Hospital Oakland, Hewlett Packard, ITT Hartford, Wells Fargo, the City of Alameda, Sony, and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Marc R. Hannah - Founder

Dr. Marc Hannah is a co-founder of SUDA and currently serves as the Company's Director of Engineering and Technology. Dr. Hannah is also a pioneer in the fields of electrical engineering, computer aided design, computer graphics and high performance computing. Dr. Hannah is a co-founder of Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) where he formerly spent 16 years helping grow that company from a small startup to a multi-billion dollar computer hardware and software company. During his association with SGI Dr. Hannah oversaw the company's development of hardware products from desktop workstations to large, multiprocessor supercomputers and software visualization tools for demanding and varied applications ranging from automotive design to movie special effects. Dr. Hannah duties at SGI also included evaluating future technologies and markets to propose new products and strategies. During his latter years at the company, he worked closely with CEO Dr. Jim Clark to initiate projects to deliver SGI technologies into numerous consumer applications and products. When Dr. Hannah eventually left the company in 1997 to pursue other interests, he was Vice President and Chief Scientist. Dr. Hannah is a graduate of from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Hannah was awarded a Bell Labs Fellowship and attended Stanford University where he received his Masters and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. He is a former Trustee and currently serves on the Board of Overseers at his alma mater, IIT, where he has established an endowed scholarship in honor of his mother for African-American students studying Electrical Engineering. Dr. Hannah has been granted 13 patents, and received numerous awards & honors, including: Kilby Young Innovator Award and Black Engineer of the Year.

Regina Davis

Regina Davis joined Strategic Urban Development Alliance (SUDA) in 2014 to develop over 2 million square feet of commercial real estate development projects in Oakland with Lane Partners LLC and the China Harbour Engineering Company. Projects include the 5-acre West Oakland BART Transit Oriented Development and the 3.5 acre Eastline project near 19th St. BART Station in Uptown Oakland. Regina Davis was formerly the CEO of San Francisco Housing Development Corporation, the affordable housing developer in San Francisco's Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood. Ms. Davis completed several affordable housing developments including 4800 Third Street limited-equity Condos, Keith Street four-bedroom single-family homes, Bayview Commons Apartments for families with special needs and Ocean Beach Apartments and Providence Foundation apartments for seniors. Regina was a designer at the Michael Willis Architects firm designing affordable multifamily projects for San Francisco, Oakland and Richmond Housing Authority Agencies, and nonprofits including Glide Memorial. Formerly She taught architecture studio design at the University of California, Berkeley and at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. Ms. Davis began her career as a project manager for the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs developing community-based arts facilities such as the Studio Museum in Harlem. Ms. Davis earned a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. She is on the board of the University of San Francisco School of Management Gellert Family Business Resource Center and a SPUR member.

Richard Stern

Prior to joining the SUDA team, Richard Stern has operated as an independent consultant since January 2001. During that time he has undertaken several assignments including: Managing Director of EMP Financial Advisers, working with Paramount and the City of Tianjin, China, to develop a major theme park, Vice President of Waterstandard LLC, which specializes in the provision of large scale ship based water desalination plants, assisting a new IT company to introduce state-of-the-art traffic management systems in China and the provision of consulting services to the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa, the Development Bank of South Africa, the Development Finance Resource Center of the Southern African Community, the World Bank, the Ningbo Hi-Tech Park in China and the Japanese Bank for International Corporation. From 1970 to 2000 Richard Stern worked for the World Bank in a variety of positions. This included more than ten years working as an economist on East Africa, directing the World Bank's programs in Indonesia, managing the institutions activities in the finance, telecommunications, energy, mining and industry sectors in China, and directing the World Bank's global programs in the telecommunications, information technology, energy, mining and industry. The latter assignment, during the first half of the 1990's, involved a major realignment of World Bank policies and assistance programs towards the promotion of competition, privatization and outsourcing of infrastructure services, which had previously been the exclusive domain of government. In 1997 Richard Stern was appointed vice president of Human Resources where he was responsible for a major overhaul of the Bank Group's (including IFC and MIGA), personnel, compensation and pension policies and the design and implementation of a program to decentralize, restructure and upgrade the skills mix of the Bank's staff. The later involved the separation and recruitment of more than 3000 staff.

Sylvie Castonguay

Sylvie Castonguay, was previously a principal at SUDA and served as the Chief Communications Officer for international projects. Ms. Castonguay joined SUDA in June 2010 and is responsible for customer relations with the West African Power Pool (WAPP) and other business relationships with potential project partners. Ms. Castonguay also serves as Editor of Communications and Public Affairs for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and resides in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to joining SUDA and the WMO, Sylvie was Editor-in-Chief of the Communications Division for ten years at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Switzerland. Under her leadership the WIPO Magazine evolved from a mundane UN newsletter into a relevant and responsive periodical that discussed cutting-edge intellectual property issues and reflects the concerns of its ever-increasing readership. Hardcopy subscriptions multiplied fourfold during her tenure as editor. Ms. Castonguay holds a Master's Degree in Media and Communications as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the International University in Geneva (IUG).
