Anthony Alessi

Anthony is responsible for all facets of the company related to the design and construction process. He interfaces with all employees of the company providing direction and mentorship. Leadership responsibilities also include implementing all activities and "make things happen." While acting as a strategic and tactical planner. He also monitors and controls the reporting systems and procedures established for evaluating project results as to cost, schedule, quality, and client relationships. Throughout the development process, Anthony leads all design and programming including the supervision of all design professionals - architects, engineers, landscape architects, interior designers, and specialty vendors. Beyond design, Anthony leads all development budgeting and pricing. As a co-founder of Synergy Construction, Anthony Brings over 25 years of construction experience to the ownership team. Anthony started out in the real estate industry as a laborer for his father's roofing company. Upon completing his carpenter's apprenticeship at the age of 22, Anthony opened a union carpentry firm growing it to over 50 employees in 5 years. From there, Anthony leveraged that experience and knowledge into a successful home building firm completing over 20 homes per year. In 2009, Anthony founded Synergy Construction along with his three partners and have successfully grown year over year. Anthony is happily married to his wife Amanda of 20 years and lives with their three boys in Western Springs, IL. His hobbies include spending time with his family, traveling, hockey, music, and donating time to several non-profits.

Jeff Metz

Jeffrey heads the general contracting side of Synergy's business by leading the design coordination, pre-construction, budgeting, construction scheduling and developing bid/project strategies. Still actively involved in the construction process, Jeffrey continues to work side-by-side with the various management teams to ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget and exceed clients' needs. Working with past and present clients and design professionals, Jeffrey strives to form strong professional partnerships based on integrity, ingenuity, and reliability. Jeffrey graduated from University of Kansas's College of Engineering with a B.S. Degree in Architectural Engineering and a Construction Management minor in 1996. As an intern and the first 3 years after college, Jeffrey worked with two Chicago based general contracting companies as a Project Manager assembling a wealth of knowledge and experience in marketing, bidding, purchasing, managing and completing various types of projects. Utilizing the skills and experiences acquired in school and his professional career, he went on to own and manage a successful commercial and residential development company as well as owning and operating two restaurants.

Phil Domenico

Job Titles:

Phil is responsible for sourcing new development opportunities, financial modeling, investor relations, debt financing, municipal entitlements, pre-construction management, property management and facilitating asset dispositions. Phil has been active in the real estate industry for almost 30 years. Phil's career spans commercial and residential real estate and includes a Bachelor's degree from John Carroll University and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University. Starting in 1995, Phil managed large office construction projects for The John Buck Company then the deployment of 153 cell sites for Verizon Wireless. Co-founding Synergy in 2009, Phil has been a Principal at the Company directing preconstruction and design development activities including tax increment financing (TIF), feasibility analysis, estimating, budgeting and project management. In 2010, Phil secured a license to build a tax-credit financed supportive living facility. This SLF license ultimately became the catalyst for the $74M Synergy/Evergreen Residential JV redevelopment of the old Ravenswood Hospital into a 193-unit elderly independent and supportive living facility. In 2015, Phil assisted with Synergy's development and construction of 5 clinics for Oak Street Health. Then in 2019 Synergy sold its Oak Street Health real estate portfolio to a California based REIT for over $22M. In 2016, Phil founded Assemble Shared Office opening several locations in Chicago and Minneapolis until selling the business in 2019 to Industrious Office. In 2019, Phil led the development, property management and sale of a TIF financed 100-unit new construction luxury multifamily project in South Elgin, IL. Despite delivering this building at the start of the COVID pandemic, Synergy successfully achieved full occupancy in less than 12 months and sold the project for $24M. Then again in 2020, Phil lead the development of a 162-unit TIF financed new construction luxury multifamily project in Winfield IL that sold in a record 9 months after completion and generated a 44% IRR back to investors.
