Brian Leaver graduated from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, with a Bachelors of Science Degree after completing a double major in Construction Management and Architectural Design. After spending five years in Orlando, Florida, where he was involved in construction of retail stores, office buildings, timeshares and hotels, Brian returned to his hometown of Sarasota, Florida and is currently a Principal and President of Tandem Construction. Brian Leaver has over 23 years of local construction management experience. Brian manages many of the region's most notable construction projects for Non Profit clients, School Boards, Local Governments, and International Businesses. His focus on innovation and quality control has solidified Tandem Construction as one of Southwest Florida's industry-leading construction management service providers.

Donnie has over 20 years of construction experience ranging from Carpentry, Building Contractor, Estimating and Project Management. Donnie's concentration is on Education and Sports Facilities. One of his most impressive accomplishments was as the onsite project manager at the IMG Academy Baseball Complex and finishing the project in only 8 short weeks; on-time and within budget! Donnie's dedication to his work is evident in the way he approaches his job with enthusiasm and endless energy as he works toward project completion. Donnie is always wearing a contagious smile and his positive energy has led him to successfully learn the business and excel in the industry at a pace faster than most. When Donnie is not at work he is spending time with his wife and sons or on the golf course.

DOUG HORTON - CMO

Doug has over twenty years of experience providing marketing support and services in the construction industry. Doug is a ten-year veteran of Tandem Construction and is responsible for the production of proposals, presentations, credentials, qualifications, and all associated marketing collateral.

Kent Hayes - VP

As Vice President at Tandem Construction, Kent Hayes is part of the leadership team at Tandem Construction with over 12 years of local construction management experience. Kent leads Tandem's project development department, contracting new work while supporting permitting and preconstruction services. Kent is a Florida native, with relationships across many of Tandem's most prominent markets including Non-Profit Entities, Education, General Government, and Public Safety facilities.

MATT SIMS

Matt Sims grew up in Southwest Florida and attended Sarasota High School. Matt was accepted into the University of Florida and graduated in 2001 from the M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction with a Bachelors degree in Building Construction. During his time at school Matt interned with a Sarasota-Based Contractor, W.G. Mills. In 2002 he was hired on full-time to support their local efforts with Educational (K-12) Construction projects. Over the next 11 years Matt continued his focus in Education by supporting the construction of Heron Creek Middle School, McIntosh Middle School and Tatum Ridge Elementary School. He also managed the construction of several religious facilities, HVAC renovations and road projects. In 2013 Matt was hired by Tandem Construction to develop new relationships with Sarasota and Manatee County, and to continue his track record of successfully delivering projects on-time and within budget for the great businesses and organizations within our local community. Known for his cool temperament and his speed on a road bike, Matt will overcome any challenge to help an owner attain their goals.

NATHAN RENNER

After working in the construction industry throughout college, Nathan spent 4 years in Colorado on a variety of commercial construction projects from public schools and warehouses to office buildings. Nathan returned with his family to his hometown of Sarasota, FL to continue his construction career. Nathan continued his experience on a variety of construction projects from Large Elementary, Middle and High School Projects, Historical Building Renovations and Condominiums to Luxury Waterfront Residences. These projects enabled him to work amid a diverse group of clients and situations. Combining education and experience together with his energetic personality, Nathan contributes professionalism to each project. His goal is to continue delivering successful projects and develop longstanding relationships with clients.

Peter's emphasis on client service, attention to detail, and professionalism throughout our local industry has supported Tandem's consistent growth and evolution as one of Southwest Florida's Best-In-Class Construction Managers. Peter serves on multiple boards for community organizations. His passion for education has driven him to become an active Board Member and Chairman of the Sarasota Education Foundation.
