I never had the perfect smile. No matter how many times a day I brushed and flossed, my teeth were always discolored and prone to cavities. In my early 30's my first tooth fell out due to decay. I needed to visit the dentist, but quite frankly, I was embarrassed. I just knew the dentist would blame me for the poor condition of my teeth and I didn't want to sit through a long lecture. On the other hand, I knew that if I didn't do something, it wouldn't be long before I started losing more teeth. So I began searching for information regarding possible causes for my tooth decay. Something that I could use to defend myself if that dreaded lecture did occur when visiting the dentist.
