Amy D. Cubbage

Amy is an experienced litigator who practices before state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as a variety of administrative agencies and tribunals. She has argued cases in all of Kentucky's appellate courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and briefed cases in federal and state courts across the country, including the United States Supreme Court. Amy's practice focuses on complex commercial and constitutional litigation, including general commercial litigation, employment litigation, information security and privacy, trust and estate litigation, healthcare litigation (including medical employment contracts), government contracts, elections and campaign finance, and federal and state constitutional claims. She has particular expertise with injunctive relief claims, having been first chair in numerous preliminary and permanent injunction hearings in state and federal courts. Before joining Tachau Meek in 2022, Amy served as General Counsel to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. Amy also served previously as Vice Chairman and Commissioner of the Kentucky Public Service Commission, and Deputy Secretary of the Labor Cabinet, and has practiced privately in both local and regional law firms. Amy is dedicated to serving her fellow lawyers. She has served three terms as a Fourth Supreme Court District representative on the Kentucky Bar Association's Board of Governors and will serve as KBA President from July 2022 through June 2023. She has also served on numerous KBA committees and task forces, most notably as chair of the task force which developed the first statewide judicial evaluation, and as chair of the committee which administers the statewide judicial evaluation.

Catie A. Wheatley

After graduating first in her class from Indiana University Maurer School of Law (Bloomington), Catie served as an appellate law clerk in both state and federal courts: first for the Honorable Geoffrey G. Slaughter on the Indiana Supreme Court and then for the Honorable Eugene E. Siler, Jr. on the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. While in law school, Catie served as a judicial extern for the Honorable David F. Hamilton on the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit; was elected as the Notes and Comments Editor of the Indiana Law Journal; and worked as a summer associate at a regional firm in Louisville and an international firm in Indianapolis. Before law school, Catie earned her master's degree in international law and government from Georgetown University. She then started her nonprofit career at the Institute for Justice, a national nonprofit law firm headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. Catie next returned home and worked at the Louisville area chapter of the American Red Cross, and then with several nonprofit and educational organizations in Louisville and Southern Indiana, most recently in executive leadership roles. Catie joined Tachau Meek in August 2023, where she works on a variety of commercial litigation matters.

David Tachau

David's litigation practice has included trial court and appellate cases, and arbitration matters, representing individual and corporate plaintiffs and defendants from small towns in Kentucky to federal courtrooms in New York, Chicago, Indianapolis and Jacksonville. In recent years, David's practice has been concentrated in general commercial litigation, trust and estate litigation, employment-related disputes, insurance and healthcare disputes, and public advocacy and constitutional litigation. David has been retained by numerous other attorneys and area law firms in professional practice matters, and has been engaged as an expert witness in multiple attorneys' fee matters. David has consistently been included in recent editions of The Best Lawyers in America and Kentucky Super Lawyers. David has served as chairman or president and member on a number of nonprofit community boards. In September 2021, he began a two-year term as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Louisville, a regional nonprofit with more than $800 million in assets. David has also served as chairman of the Nominating Committee and member of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, and as Board Chairman and long-time Board member of Teach Kentucky, which recruits new teachers to area public schools. From 2002 until 2006, David served on the Kentucky Board of Education, where he was chairman of the Audit Committee and a committee overseeing the Kentucky Schools for the Blind and Deaf.

Dustin E. Meek

Dustin practices before state and federal trial courts and administrative tribunals. She has argued before the Kentucky Court of Appeals, the Kentucky Supreme Court and the US Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits on lender liability matters, employment discrimination and ERISA claims, commercial land planning disputes and insurance coverage matters. She has tried cases to a jury and conducted numerous administrative hearings, arbitration and injunctive relief hearings.

Kate Lacy Crosby

After graduating from law school, Kate served as a federal law clerk at both the trial court and appellate levels. Kate joined Tachau Meek in 2009, and litigates cases in state and federal courts. She represents individuals and businesses, plaintiffs and defendants. She has managed a variety of matters including those involving contract disputes, constitutional issues, access to public records under Kentucky's Open Records Act, professional negligence claims, restrictive covenants (non-competition and non-solicitation agreements), fiduciary duties, employment discrimination, insurance coverage disputes, trade secret infringement, employee separation and fee disputes. Kate has represented clients in both state and federal jury trials. Before joining Tachau Meek, Kate served as a law clerk for late Judge John G. Heyburn II of the U. S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky and late Judge Boyce F. Martin, Jr. of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Marc G. Farris

After graduating from Harvard Law School, Marc began his legal career in New York as a litigation associate as a large international law firm. At that firm, Marc represented financial institutions in matters arising from the 2008 financial crisis, including securities litigation in state and federal courts across the country, and an investigation by the Federal Reserve into a publicly traded bank. Marc then served as a law clerk for two federal judges on the trial court (District of New Jersey) and appellate (Third Circuit) levels. He then returned to private practice focusing on complex commercial litigation, including on a team representing a small business owner in an arbitration proceeding which resulted in the recovery of funds misappropriated by the client's business partner. Marc also represented two hedge funds at the conclusion of a multiyear lawsuit to recover on defaulted sovereign bonds, and he represented the audit committee of a publicly traded company in an SEC investigation into accounting improprieties. A Louisville native, Marc returned to Kentucky in 2017 and joined the Office of the Attorney General as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Civil and Environmental Law. As Assistant Attorney General, Marc represented the Commonwealth, its agencies, and its employees in state and federal courts, including in historic litigation in which the Kentucky Supreme Court struck down a public pension law for violating the Kentucky Constitution. Marc then served as Deputy General Counsel to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, where he advised the Governor and other Executive Branch officials on legal matters, and represented the Governor at all levels of the state and federal judiciary, including both the Kentucky and United States Supreme Courts. Marc joined Tachau Meek in October 2022.
