David set up THE COACHING TEAM specifically to bring together an inspirational group of achievers who he believes can consistently inspire elite performance in others. Creator and cornerstone of The Coaching Team, David has been specialising in people development for over 20 years. His work involves creating and facilitating team, leadership and individual development programmes throughout the world
Creator and cornerstone of The Coaching Team, David has been specialising in people development for over 20 years. His work involves creating and facilitating team, leadership and individual development programmes throughout the world. His coaching, both strategically and operationally, has enabled many businesses to achieve significant results through enhancing the energy and capabilities of their people. He works with an array of organisations, supporting them on either a company wide basis, working with a specific team or coaching individuals.
David's career started in the Army, based in the Far East serving with the Gurkhas. He completed a variety of roles from the recruitment and training of soldiers in Nepal and Hong Kong, to representing the United Nations in South Korea. This time gave him valuable insight in how to engage, lead and motivate people in a multi-cultural environment.
David then moved into the training and hospitality industry, where as a Director with Style Conferences Limited he led a variety of teams in supporting organisations such as Xerox and British Airways in operating their corporate training centres. Here, he developed a sound understanding of business development and leading change; Style Conferences enjoyed extensive growth prior to being acquired by the Rentokil Initial Group and then De Vere Venues.
Kenton's passion is climbing, the outdoors and he is now acknowledged as one of the world's greatest high altitude mountain leaders. His record of success with clients on Everest is, without doubt, the best of any expedition leader. Kenton has personally summited Everest sixteen times (two of these being back to back in the same week - a Global first) the most recent of these being in May 2022. Kenton supports us on a number of leadership and teamwork projects where his experiences and amazing stories inspire people to challenge themselves to perform at their very best. His engaging style and his personal achievements, add an exciting extra dimension to our workshops.
Nigel is a former International Rugby Union player (England and the British & Irish Lions). He is presently the Head of Team Performance at the England Rugby Football Union, having had previous extensive coaching experience as the Head of Performance Team Development with the British Olympic Swimming Team, Elite Coach Development Manager at the England RFU, the forwards coach at Worcester Warriors Rugby and a UK Sport Elite Coach. Not only does he have a passion for sport, Nigel also has a passion for coaching and helping people to get the best out of themselves and their teams. He supports us on many performance coaching projects where he shares his experiences from sport, to help people develop their team, individual coaching and leadership capabilities.
With over 25 years' serving with the Royal Marines, Scully is a first-class team building and leadership management consultant and draws upon his experience to deliver programmes which focus on motivation, communication and collaboration. A qualified Insights practitioner; he is a firm advocate of learning outside the classroom. Scully offers opportunities, challenges and tasks in a variety of outdoor scenarios, with the sole purpose not only of teaching teams how to work together to achieve their maximum potential, but also demonstrating to leaders how they can directly and positively impact upon their own team's performance.
