The Knowledge Trust is a commitment by the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to shape a critical role for 21 st century knowledge professionals and to promote an informed public... Citizens around the world are increasingly aware that they often need a trusted guide to help sort and substantiate the information they require. Knowledge professional will increasingly be called upon to provide, validate, organize, manage, disseminate and preserve information required for endeavors in every walk of life. Consequently, we believe that leading institutions are obligated to create, assess, and improve accessible information systems, as well as review and revolutionize the roles of knowledge professionals, who will assume a larger and more pivotal role in the coming years.
