Oliver Forbes-Turner

Job Titles:
  • Instructor
Oliver Forbes-Turner was born in Westminster, London but grew up in Northumberland. He had three years schooling over the border in Scotland before returning to Northumberland to finish his education. For five years Oliver worked as an outdoor pursuits instructor with physically and mentally disabled people. He assessed their individual needs and organised their activities for the week, which included sailing, canoeing, abseiling, horse riding and archery. He subsequently moved to a large country estate in Northumberland overseeing its renovation. During this time he injured his back and consulted a local chiropractor who successfully treated him. This is where he saw the ‘light' which led to his interest in Chiropractic and his change in career path. Oliver is a qualified sailing instructor, obtaining his Royal Yachting Association certificate at Langs in Scotland. He is also a keen skier, mountain biker and walker. He is married to Ellis a psychologist and has two teenage daughters Nina and Erin. During his five year study at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic Oliver became interested in the role of rehabilitation and it's importance in the management of low back and neck pain. This area of research stimulated him enough to carry out his own investigation on the role of rehabilitation for spinal pain and he produced his dissertation on this topic. Oliver specialises in the treatment of shoulder problems and sports injuries. He has a keen interest in treating the "more mature" patient and care of the elderly.
