Brian Humphreys is Vice-President of Energy of Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). Brian leads the Energy Products and Services, Supply and Distribution and Crude Oil Teams. Brian joined FCL after 13 years of progressive responsibility in the domestic and international energy industry at Nexen Energy/CNOOC International in Calgary, where he was Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, responsible for above-ground strategies in support of conventional, unconventional and renewable portfolios and projects in North America, as well as global above-ground risk assessments for new market entries. His professional experience also includes serving as Director of Strategy and Policy, Government Affairs at Canadian Pacific Railway, Director of Government Affairs at Aquila Networks Canada (later Fortis Alberta) and seven years at senior levels in the Government of Saskatchewan. His volunteer experience includes being an executive board member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Canada China Business Council. He has also previously served as a board member of the Alberta Chamber of Resources, Advisory Council Member of the Alberta Immigrant Access Fund, board member of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Community Health Services Association Co-operative in Regina. Brian has earned his Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University in Ottawa and his Master of Arts from the University of Alberta in Edmonton

Darlene Thorburn

Darlene Thorburn of Victoria, BC, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2020. She is one of the directors elected by District 2 which is comprised of 21 retails in British Columbia and Alberta. Darlene has primary responsibility for eight Retail members. As an FCL Director, Darlene serves on the Human Resources and Credentials Committees. Additionally, she serves as the Board's representative liaison to the BC Co-op Association and as a FCL representative to the BC Regional Co-operators. Darlene was first elected to the Board of Mid Island Consumer Services Co-operative in 2009. She served as Board Chair/President for nine years. She has strong experience in board governance and corporate performance management. Darlene worked for 26 years in labour relations and human resources and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors Designation (ICD.D) through the Rothman School of Business at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Darlene also serves as a Board member with a local non-profit housing association - Duncan Housing Association. This association provides housing for low-income seniors and people with disabilities. She was elected to the Board in 2018 and is currently Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of the Finance committee. Darlene has five grown children and seven grandchildren.

Donna Smith of Stony Plain, AB was first elected to the FCL Board in 2020. She is one of the directors elected by District 1 which is comprised of 25 retails in British Columbia and Alberta. Donna has primary responsibility for eight Retail members which are located in the southern part of the District. Donna is a member of the Governance and Sustainability Committees and is the Board's representative to the Alberta Community and Co-operative Association and The Co-operators. Donna was first elected to the Board of North Central Co-operative Association Ltd. in 2011, holding the positions of Vice President and Chairperson of the Governance Committee, as well as a Delegate to the Resolutions Committee. Donna has extensive experience working with local government and not-for-profits and holds certificates in non-profit management and local government administration. She is currently the Char of the Adult Learning and Literacy Association and a member of the Stony Plain Library Capital Campaign Committee. Recently, both she and her husband, Don, retired form small business ownership, and as proud parents of two daughters and five grandchildren; they enjoy playing an active role in their family's lives.

Gil Le Dressay

Gil is responsible for the all of the operational elements of the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) in Regina, including mechanical, process, engineering, safety, environment and economic performance. His responsibilities also include the Refinery Business office, and operational support for the lube oil facilities, two product terminals next to the refinery, and Carseland Terminal.

Graham Anderson

Graham Anderson was first elected to the Board of Federated Co-operatives Limited in 2021. He is one of the directors elected by District 2 which is comprised of 21 member co-ops in Alberta and British Columbia. Graham has primary responsibility for 7 member co-ops located across the District. As an FCL Director, Graham is a member of the Sustainability Committee and is the Board's representative to Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada. Graham's career and passion is helping co-ops and communities adapt in the low carbon economy. Graham is the founding Director of the Community Energy Initiative at Ecotrust Canada, a charitable program supporting rural and Indigenous communities to install cost-saving home energy retrofits. Previously, Graham co-founded Shift Delivery, a zero-emissions co-operative, and served as a client advisor at Climate Smart, a social enterprise that helps businesses profitably reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Graham holds a B.A. from Simon Fraser University, where he studied Economics, Dialogue, and Sustainable Community Development. Graham was first elected to the Board of East End Storefront Co-operative in 2010 and served as President from 2014 - 2021. Graham grew up in Calgary and Kamloops, and currently resides in Powell River, BC.

Heather Ryan - VP

Heather Ryan is Vice-President Supply Chain for Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). As a member of FCL's Senior Leadership Team, Heather contributes to the overall strategic direction of FCL, fosters productive relationships within the business, co-operative and local communities, and collaboratively leads initiatives and relationships within the Co-operative Retailing System. Heather provides strategic leadership and direction for all FCL's operations and regions in the areas of Logistics, Procurement, and Facilities Design and Development. Heather joined FCL in September 2013 as Director Human Resources Advisory Services, was appointed to Vice-President Human Resources in November 2015, and has been in her current role of Vice-President Supply Chain since August 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and she received her Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in 2002. Prior to joining FCL, Heather was employed by the Saskatchewan Research Council as the Manager of Organizational Development, and prior to that she worked at POS Bio-Sciences where she held various positions including Vice-President Operations and Corporate Affairs, Director of Business Development & Human Resources and Human Resources Manager. Heather also worked with Corning Cable Systems as a Human Resources Specialist and was previously employed with FCL from 1996 to 2000 in the positions of Human Resources Training Officer and Human Resources Officer. Heather was a sessional lecturer at the Edwards School of Business in the Organizational Development Department from 2006 until 2014. She has also served as a board member with both the Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan and FoodTech Canada, and currently serves as Chair for the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation Board and also serves as a Director for both the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce as well as the Co-operative Superannuation Society (CSS). Heather and her husband Sean have two children, a son (Jack) and a daughter (Rylee).

Jocelyn VanKoughnet

Jocelyn was a member of the Carman Co-op Board of Directors from 2004 until 2016 and served as the Board's Secretary for seven years. Jocelyn has been active in her community. She has served on the Public Schools Finance Board of Manitoba, the Board of Skate Canada Manitoba and the Central Manitoba Choral Association. Jocelyn and her husband, Brent, operate a grain farm and an agricultural research and consulting business. They have two children, a son in Winnipeg and a daughter in St. John's, NL. Jocelyn enjoys live theatre and the arts, skiing with her family, and early morning paddles in her kayak.

John Rudyk

John Rudyk of Fisher Branch, Man., was first elected to the Board of Federated Co-operatives Limited in 2014. He is one of the directors elected by District 5 which is comprised of 32 retails in Manitoba. John has primary responsibility for thirteen Retail members which are located in the eastern part of the District. As an FCL Director, John is a member of the Board's Audit Committee. In addition, he is the Board's representative to the Manitoba Cooperative Association and The Co-operators. John was first elected to the Board of Ukrainian Farmers Co-op in 1994 and has served as President of its Board since 1996. He has taken numerous management training seminars. John owns and operates a family farm. He has previously owned and operated a number of outfitting and vacation companies and worked as a Legislative Constituency Assistant, surveyor, claims adjuster, railroad carman/welder and heavy equipment operator. John has always taken a very active role in his community. He currently acts as a Director on the Board of the Ukrainian National Home Association, and is a member of the Fisher Branch Chamber of Commerce. John has recently retired from the Manitoba Municipal Board. In the past, he also served as a Director on the Fisher Game and Fish Association, the Northern Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club and the Crown Lands Appeal Board. John and his wife, Donna, have three children.

Leanne Hawes - VP

Leanne is responsible for the management of FCL's relations with the 160 member Co-operatives in the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) and external stakeholders. Leanne Hawes is the Vice-President Co-op and External Relations for Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). As Vice-President, she is responsible for the management of FCL's relations with the 160 member Co-operatives in the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) and external stakeholders. Leanne first began her Co-operative Retailing System career with Lloydminster Co-op as the Marketing Development Manager in 2009, she then became the Vice-President Operations in 2012 before becoming the Chief Executive Officer in 2018, and further joined FCL in her current role in 2021. Leanne is a proven strategic leader who can translate vision into business growth and financial results. She is someone who brings a professional approach to problem-solving and is a solid public representative of Co-op. She is community-minded and focuses on performance through collaboration, believing we are stronger together. Leanne is presently finishing her Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Fredericton. She has received education from Athabasca University in Labour Relations and has a Diploma in Business Management (with Honours) from Lakeland College. She was recently presented with Lakeland College's Distinguished Alumni award in 2020. Leanne carries a passion for giving back to the communities we live, work, and play. This has included volunteer board positions for numerous culture, recreation, and social service groups such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Lloydminster Ukrainian Cultural Association, and Lloydminster Sexual Assault Services.

Paul Hames

Paul Hames of Brentwood Bay, B.C., was elected to the Board of Federated Co-operatives Limited in 2021. He is one of three directors elected by District 2, which is comprised of 21 Co-operatives located in Alberta and British Columbia. Paul has primary responsibility for seven co-operatives within District 2. As an FCL Director, Paul is a member of the Human Resources Committee, the Credentials Committee and is the Board's representative to The Co-operators. Paul has been a Director on Peninsula Co-op's Board for 18 years and has been President of the Board for eight years. He has served on all committees, which include Finance, Governance, Member Relations, Planning, Mergers and Amalgamation, and Nominations. Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta and a Master of Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University. Paul has extensive conflict management experience. He is a trained mediator/negotiator and received advanced negotiation training at Harvard University. He obtained his ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors (Rotman School of Management - Haskayne Business School Calgary). Paul has completed the full complement of FCL Governance courses. Paul is proud to have been a police officer for many years contributing to the safety and sustainability of Canadian communities. He has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Police Forces (M.O.M.), the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the RCMP Long Service Medal. Paul loves to travel with his family, hike and explore back roads on his motorcycle when time permits.

Randy Graham

Randy Graham of Battleford, SK, was elected to the FCL Board in 2016 and to Vice-Chair in 2019. He is one of the directors elected by District 4 which is comprised of 43 retails in Saskatchewan. Randy has primary responsibility for seventeen Retail members which are located in the northwestern part of the District. As an FCL Director, Randy is chair of the Board's Governance, Credentials and Code of Conduct and Ethics Committees, in addition he is also a Board Member to Co-operatives and Mutual Canada. Randy was a member of the Discovery Co-op Board of Directors from 2002 to 2017, serving as the Board President for 12 years. Randy has taken many training courses and seminars. During his time on the Discovery Co-op Board, he gained background in a number of areas including corporate performance management and creation and management of a sustainable member equity program. Randy has been very active in his community, spending time on numerous local boards and organizations including Battlefords Chamber of Commerce, North Battleford Golf and Country Club, Battlefords North Stars Junior Hockey Club and Battlefords Promotion Society, to name a few. In August 1992 Randy became employed with Innovation Credit Union and during his tenure there held various positions and responsibilities including senior management roles until retiring in June 2019. Randy and his wife, Diana, reside in the Town of Battleford and both enjoy numerous activities including spending as much summer time as possible at Turtle Lake, and enjoying a game of golf.

Robert Grimsrud

Robert Grimsrud of Estevan, SK, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2019. He is one of the directors elected by District 3 which is comprised of 45 retails in Saskatchewan. Robert has primary responsibility for fifteen Retail members which are located in the southeastern part of the District. As an FCL Director, Robert is the Chair of the Board's Sustainability Committee. In addition, he is the Board's representative to the Co-operative Superannuation Society. Robert was on the Board of Southern Plains Co-op (formerly Estevan Co-op) for 24 years, retiring from the position in 2019. He served as President and Chair of the Board from 1997 to 2019. Robert has been active in his community, serving on various organizations. Robert previously served as a Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Delegate, representing his district for three years. Robert grew up on the family farm south of Torquay, Sask. Robert, his wife, Pauline, and their two sons, Axel and Justis, now operate the farm, which has been in the family for over 110 years and has been a certified organic operation since 1999. Robert attended the University of Saskatchewan where he earned degrees from the College of Commerce and College of Law. Robert has been a lawyer since 1991 and has been practising in Estevan since 1993. Pauline is also employed in Estevan and is involved in a number of organizations. Their sons also reside and work in Estevan.

Roman Coba

Roman Coba is Vice-President of Technology for Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). As Vice-President, Roman is responsible for helping meet the ever-changing needs of the Co-operative Retail System (CRS) and its customers through innovative technology solutions. Roman began his career in information technology as a programmer, progressing through various key roles and leadership positions within his field of expertise. He has become a key transformative leader in the industry on a global, national and regional basis. Previously, Roman held key technology and business leadership roles with Wal-Mart International, Loblaw Companies Limited and McCain Foods in various parts of the globe, bringing a wealth of knowledge, ideas and innovative processes to FCL. Roman was responsible for integrating critical technology and business processes to better deliver innovative programs. He has also led efforts to increase productivity and improve performance in order to deliver current and next-generation services more efficiently within organizations. Roman is an active member on various technology and industry association boards. He holds an undergraduate degree in computer science and a specialist Diploma in Programming and Analysis with over 25 years of experience delivering technology and innovative solutions.

Ron Healey - VP

Ron Healey is Vice-President Ag and Consumer Business for Federated Co operatives Limited (FCL). As Vice-President, he is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to foster sustainable growth within FCL's Food, TGP, Home and Building Solutions, Crop Supplies, Fertilizer and Feed Departments. Shortly after receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Ron joined FCL as a Regional Crop Supplies Sales Co-ordinator in 1998. In 2000, Ron left the organization to return to school, this time at the University of Alberta, where he completed his MBA, specializing in Natural Resources and Energy. He returned to FCL, initially as Regional Human Resources Manager, before moving back to Saskatoon in 2003 to become the Crop Supplies Marketing Manager. In subsequent years, Ron gained additional experience in procurement as the Crop Protection Manager before moving into the Crop Supplies Director role. In 2012, Ron was promoted to the role of Associate Vice-President Ag and Home. Throughout his career, Ron has led with vision and purpose, assembled high-performing teams and executed strategies to significantly grow the business. Ron is a member of the Board of Directors of United Grocers Inc., Interprovincial Cooperatives Limited, The Produce People and Hope's Home. Ron and his wife Cheryl have two sons and one daughter.

Scott Banda is Chief Executive Officer of Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL), a position he has held since February 2010. Scott joined FCL in 2002 as the Legal Affairs Manager. In November 2004, he was appointed to the position of Vice-President, Corporate & Legal Affairs. As CEO of FCL, Scott has led a forward-focused and values-based approach to doing business. He and his leadership team are challenging and evolving business processes, especially in the areas of talent management, brand, technology and business development to maintain and grow Co-op's relevance. He is a passionate advocate of Co-op and its importance to communities. In 2013, Scott was recognized as one of Saskatchewan's Men of Influence by the Saskatchewan Business Magazine. In 2015, he was recognized as one of the University of Saskatchewan College of Arts & Science's most distinguished alumni. Prior to joining FCL, Scott worked for AREVA Resources Canada and Saskatchewan Crown Investments Corporation. Scott graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Arts & Science with Honours in History in 1986 and from Law School in 1990. He is also a graduate of the Banff School of Advanced Management. Scott presently serves on the Board of the Desjardins General Insurance Group and the Wanuskewin Heritage Park Authority and has served on other Boards including the Saskatoon Co-operative Association Limited and the Desjardins Group Advisory Committee. FCL is owned by approximately 170 retail co-operatives. Together they provide goods and services that help build, feed and fuel individuals and communities throughout Western Canada. FCL itself is the largest non-financial co-operative in Canada with revenues of $9.8 billion, the 58th largest company in Canada, the largest in Saskatchewan and in 2015 was recognized as Saskatchewan's Business of the Year. Scott and his wife Tracy have two daughters.

Sharon Alford - Chairman, President

Sharon Alford of Swan River, MB, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2013, and was elected Chair of the Board in 2019. Sharon is one of the directors elected by District 5 which is comprised of 32 retails in Manitoba. Sharon has primary responsibility for ten Retail members which are located in the central and western part of the District. Sharon is a member of the Governance Committee and serves as ex-officio on all other Board Committees. In addition, Sharon is the Board's representative to Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada, Manitoba Cooperative Association, The Co-operators and the Canadian Centre for the Study of Co-operatives. Sharon was first elected to the Board of Directors of Swan Valley Co-op in 2002, where she served on various committees and as President from 2004 to 2013. Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba, where she majored in Economics, and a Diploma in Agriculture from Nova Scotia Agricultural College. In 2017, Sharon received her Professional Director designation following the successful completion of Governance Solutions' Professional Director Certification Program.

Shauna Wilkinson is the Vice-President, People and Culture for Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). In her new role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Shauna will contribute to the overall strategic direction and vision of FCL, foster productive relationships within the business, and collaboratively lead FCL initiatives and the ongoing evolution of FCL's people practices and programs. As Vice-President People and Culture, Shauna will be providing strategic leadership and direction for all FCL's operations in the areas of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, Performance Management, Total Rewards, Succession Planning, Workforce Planning, Diversity and Inclusion, Organizational Learning, Health, Safety and Wellness, Employee Relations and Advisory Services all in alignment with the Co-op employee promise - You're at Home Here. Shauna joined FCL in August 2014, as Manager, Business Integrations and advanced to the role of Director, Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning in September 2015. In January 2019, she was appointed to the role of Associate Vice-President, Talent Management before being appointed Vice-President, People and Culture in August 2021. Tara Burke of Wainwright, AB, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2015. She is one of the directors elected by District 1 which is comprised of 25 retails in British Columbia and Alberta. Valerie Pearson of Saskatoon, SK, was first elected to the Board of FCL in 2015. She is one of the directors elected by District 4 which is comprised of 43 retails in Saskatchewan. Valerie was a member of the Saskatoon Co-op Board of Directors for 12 years, serving as the Board's President for five years. Valerie's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. She is a Professional Agrologist, licensed through the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Over the years, Valerie has taken many training courses and seminars. Valerie currently is the Executive Director and Registrar of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Her past work experience includes Provincial Manager for the Canadian Red Cross, Executive Director of the Saskatchewan 4-H Council and Manager with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Valerie's current professional and community involvements include board member of the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame and Vice Chair of Agrologists Agronomes Canada. Past involvements include President of the Canadian 4-H Council and public representative on the Discipline Committee for the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association, Chair of the Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan, and Board member of the Prince Albert and Saskatchewan Chambers of Commerce. Valerie and her husband Jamie reside in Saskatoon.
