Prior to 2001, I had been doing janitorial work at night for businesses in my area. Complaining to a neighbor of my dislike of being out during part of the night, she suggested that I try my hand at window cleaning. Two local window cleaners were retiring at the same time so my business took off as one of those retiring window cleaners referred all his customers to me.
