Armand is an expert in federal criminal defense. In addition to his valuable negotiation skills, Armand's trial preparation is first-rate. During his career, he has handled numerous complex cases. He has successfully represented individuals in all forms of criminal cases.
Outside the courtroom, Armand has served as volunteer legal counsel for the Louisville Jaycees, the Kentucky Jaycees, and the J. Graham Brown School. He has shared his knowledge as an adjunct professor at the University of Louisville Paralegal Studies Program, Sullivan College Paralegal Institute, and Watterson College Business School. He is a frequent guest lecturer at continuing education seminars for attorneys. His experience as an attorney for children serves him well in his volunteer position on the Board of Directors of the Home of the Innocents. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Peterson-Dumesnil House.
Charles W. Dobbins, Jr. has devoted his practice to providing thoughtful and pragmatic advice to a great diversity of clients seeking to achieve their varied business objectives. He advises and assists individuals and entities in creating and implementing corporate and other structures that support business growth through concept, capital formation, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. He advises startups and mature businesses in governance and management structure, preparing for public or private offerings and creation and completion of exit strategies, including succession and estate planning in addition to business designs and concepts.
He has advised individuals and entities in investment structures for implementation and use of Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits and Low Income Housing Tax Credits. As counsel, he has advised and assisted these clients in the infusion of private equity, issues of capital formation, entity structures and exit strategies particular to the tax structures employed in each instance. In support of the individuals advised, he also provides advice as to succession and estate planning relative to the differing investment and structures of each business or individual.
He strives to stay active in community affairs and contribute both time and energy to the development of the Louisville Community, his hometown. He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Joanne ("Joey"), a microbiology professor at Bellarmine University. Charles and Joey have two adult children and three grandchildren.

Firm founder Henry J. Tilford served as chief judge of Kentucky's highest court and returned to the firm after a number of years on the bench. Attorney Lawrence Wetherby practiced with the firm until he was elected governor of Kentucky in 1955. Mr. Wetherby rejoined the firm in an of-counsel position after his term as governor.

K. Gail Russell joined Tilford Dobbins & Schmidt, PLLC on July 20, 2020. For over 35 years Ms. Russell has practiced law in the area of bankruptcy, banking, and collections. An AV rated attorney, she has handled many foreclosure actions and bankruptcy cases in Chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 of the Code.
A native of Murray, Kentucky, Ms. Russell graduated from the University of Mississippi (B.A. Degree with Highest Distinction), and graduated from the University of Kentucky (J.D.).

Nicholas Veroff joined Tilford Dobbins & Schmidt, PLLC in September of 2023. Nick is from Floyds Knobs, Indiana. His legal practice is focused primarily on family law, including divorce and child custody cases. Nick is a trained mediator (focused primarily in family law matters).
Nick received his B.A. in psychology from the University of Louisville in 2015. Thereafter, he earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2018.
Nick's background in psychology before obtaining his law license allows him to assist clients daily in a number of ways beyond legal advice. While in law school, Nick trained and became a recognized mediator. He assisted and participated in piloting the Louisville Law Mediation Clinic in which he and others resolved cases for low-income individuals in the Louisville community. He continues utilizing his mediation training to assist parties and colleagues to mediate their disputes. Nick's legal experience enables him to guide his clients through an array of legal matters, including adoption, maintenance (alimony & spousal support), child custody and parenting time, child support, divorce and dissolution, domestic violence, interstate jurisdictional disputes, name changes, paternity, prenuptial agreements, complex marital property division case, mediation and collaborative law, same sex family law, and relocation cases.
Nick is licensed to practice in both Kentucky (2018) and Indiana (2019) Courts. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, the Young Professionals Association of Louisville, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the Clark County (Indiana) Bar Association.

Patrick T. Schmidt is a member in the Louisville firm of Tilford, Dobbins, & Schmidt, PLLC where he practices in the areas of business law and transactions, real estate, tax, and estate planning.

Paul C. O'Bryan joined Tilford, Dobbins & Schmidt, PLLC in 2022, where he focuses his practice on assisting people in the areas of Probate, Probate litigation, Estate Planning and Family Law. Paul is also a court-approved and certified mediator.
Prior to joining TD&S, Paul spent 21 years with a small Dixie Highway firm gaining experience in drafting simple and complex estate plans, wills, trust, Power of Attorneys, Deeds and contracts. In District Courts, Paul regularly assisted clients with Guardianships, Probate Administration, Will Challenges and other Probate litigation. He prosecuted Divorces, Domestic Violence Orders, Mediation, Custody and Child Support actions as well as Pre-Divorce Mediation in Family Courts. Paul has experience in Circuit Courts with civil litigation and appeals.
Paul has written manuals and lectured on various topics, including the Probate Process and Elder Law to attorneys and other professional groups. Paul has also donated his time and legal services to individuals and groups such as GuardiaCare, the Access Center Partnership and Louisville Bar Association.
