Benjamin Tsai

Benjamin is an international consultant of TMG Capital since 2008, and has assisted in the prospecting and evaluation of new investments in Brazil. Prior to joining TMG, Benjamin was a consultant at the Monitor Group, an international consulting firm, where he advised leading companies in the United States, Europe and Asia. Benjamin has a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Bryan Kim

Job Titles:

Bryan is an international consultant of TMG Capital since 2011, and has assisted in the prospecting and evaluation of new investments in Brazil. Prior to joining TMG, Bryan was a consultant at the McKinsey & Company, where he worked with clients in a wide range of industries including financial services, media, technology, pharmaceuticals and education. Bryan has a B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard University.

Eduardo Buarque de Almeida

Eduardo Buarque is a partner at TMG since its inception. Eduardo has conducted TMG's investments in the financial services industry, as well as leading prospecting efforts in several segments and sectors of the Brazilian economy.

Lucas Caiche Guedes

Lucas Caiche Guedes has been at TMG Capital since 2013, participating in prospecting efforts in several sectors of the Brazilian economy and in monitoring the performance of portfolio companies. Prior to TMG, Lucas worked for six years at Itaú-Unibanco bank as credit and collection analyst, product manager and risk manager. Lucas also has previous experience working in strategic consulting at Boston Consulting Group and auditing at Ernst & Young.

Luiz Francisco, founding partner and President of TMG Capital, has led several investments in the areas of Health Care, Information Technology, Telecom Services, Media, Financial Technologies, Biotechnology, Information Services, and Decision Analytics. Prior to founding TMG, Mr. Viana was the CEO of Latinpart from 1995 to 1997, a holding company formed to restructure five privately held Brazilian companies. Previously, Mr. Viana was Founder, Chairman and CEO of BHM/Arlabank from 1988 to 1994. BHM/Arlabank was a joint-venture between BHM, Mr. Viana's boutique investment bank, and Arlabank, a consortium investment bank composed of Middle Eastern and Latin American banks. The company was sold to Assurance Général de France (AGF) in 1994. From 1978 to 1989, Mr. Viana was a senior manager and later CEO of the HM Group, which at the time was one of the largest Brazilian distribution, consumer financing, broker dealer, and credit card companies, with approximately US$1 billion in annual revenues. Luiz Francisco chairs and has acted as Board Member for several companies, and founder and the Chairman of GVCepe, a center of studies and research on the local Private Equity Industry. He is also the Chairman of the advisory board of AFECE (an association providing assistance to mentally impaired children). Luiz Francisco holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Paulo K. Zuffo

Paulo Zuffo is partner and controller of TMG Capital, also acting in the monitoring of investee companies. Since 2000 in TMG, Paulo actively participated in the capital raising procedures for TMG II and III funds and in the value creation of the portfolio companies. In addition to working at TMG, Paulo teaches MBA-level courses at Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV - Fundação Getúlio Vargas) on Finance, Business Strategy and Leadership, being a teacher honored fourteen times since 2006. Prior to TMG, Paulo worked as a senior consultant in business management, developing the criteria for assessing the Ethos Award for Social Responsibility. Paulo holds a B.A. in Electronic Engineering from Escola Politécnica at the University of São Paulo (USP) and a Master in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-SP).

Pedro Cordeiro

Pedro Cordeiro is partner of TMG since 2012. Before joining TMG, Pedro was a partner of Bain and Company, where he led projects for international clients in the sectors of Energy, Infrastructure and TMT, and supported several Private Equity Funds in their investment strategy and execution for Brazil. At Bain, Pedro also started its very successful Oil & Gas Practice in Latin America and was responsible for its Rio de Janeiro Office. Prior to that, Pedro was CEO of Eccelera, a Private Equity Firm, where he raised three funds that invested in Real Estate, Technology and Services in Brazil. He was also partner of McKinsey & Company, where he helped Latin-American, European and US clients in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services and TMT industries. Before this, Pedro was a brand manager at P&G and a Researcher in Low temperature Physics at the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research. Pedro Cordeiro holds BSc. and MSc. degrees in Nuclear Engineering, with a focus on Plasma Physics, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Rafael Nakamoto

Rafael Nakamoto has been at TMG Capital since 2010, participating in prospecting efforts in several sectors of the Brazilian economy and monitoring the performance of portfolio companies. Prior to TMG, Rafael had professional experience in the financial industry, working in the treasury of international markets of Itaú BBA in operations of Rates, FX and Bonds. Rafael also has experience working in the institutional brokerage of Santander Brazil. Rafael holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.

Thomas Sanz

Thomas Sanz has been at TMG Capital since 2012, participating in prospecting efforts in several sectors of the Brazilian economy and monitoring the performance of portfolio companies. Thomas holds a B.A. degree with high honors from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, where he was awarded for his performance in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Statistics and overall.
