Bringing more than 19 years of precision manufacturing and business experience to the team, Michael Lyons is the President of Blue Slate, joining the team in 2011. Mr. Lyons is actively involved with the progress of our portfolio companies, serving as a board member for Extremity Medical and Simpact Dental. He also sits on the board of the youth outreach program, YouthBuild USA. Mr. Lyons graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1991, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Finance. His business experience includes positions held with Brimfield Precision (1993 - 1994), Principal Instruments (1994 - 1996), and Blackstone Medical (1996 - 2008). Prior to joining Blue Slate, Mr. Lyons founded Streetlight Concepts that, like Blue Slate, was focused on providing direction and support for start-up business ventures looking for success in their specific markets.

Joining Blue Slate in 2008, Ronald Stevenson is the company's Vice President of Operations and Finance, personally managing the operational and financial aspects of the business. A CMA and CFM, Mr. Stevenson attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he earned an MBA and BS in Management. Mr. Stevenson has more than 30 years of experience in the medical device industry, having held several executive management roles, including operations, manufacturing, administration, and financial management, at a series of companies. This included four years working for Mr. Lyons at Blackstone Medical as both the General Manager and Vice President of Finance. Prior to that, Mr. Stevenson held positions at Ludlow Technical Products (later Tyco Healthcare) from 1999 - 2002, as the Vice President of Finance and Divisional Controller; at Graphic Controls (1996 - 1999) as a Business Unit Controller; and at Sheridan Catheter Corp. (1982 - 1996) as the Vice President of Finance & Administration. In 2004, the Institute of Management Accountants awarded Mr. Stevenson for his professional excellence, presenting him with the NE Financial Executive of the Year Award.

Terry Corley came to Blue Slate in 2008, joining the team as the Senior Vice President of International Sales. Leveraging his more than 37 years of experience in international business affairs-including 27 years dedicated to medical device sales and marketing - Mr. Corley provides an international perspective to Blue Slate's ventures. He is responsible for generating sales, as well as identifying and helping Blue Slate capitalize on the changing demands of a growing global marketplace. Over his career, Mr. Corley has managed a wide variety of medical and surgical business positions, including marketing, sales, distribution, and manufacturing outside North America. His expertise allows him to successfully identify, negotiate, and establish corporate relationships with international partners, enabling penetration into these areas that are consistent with corporate objectives. These relationships include distribution, joint ventures, licensing, contract manufacturing, and assistance in negotiations with foreign governments to obtain access to priority development markets. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Mr. Corley started his business career with Hitachi, Taiwan as the OEM Business Development Manager. He also served as the North Asia Regional Manager for Alcon Ophthalmology and Surgical Products, and as a consultant for Abbott Laboratories's China market. He first worked in the orthopedics field as the Asia Pacific Area Manager for Surgical Dynamics, then moved on to Sulzer Spine-Tech (Vice President of International Sales) and Blackstone Medical (Vice of President of International Sales and Managing Director of Direct Sales in Germany).
