Amirhossein Madadi

Amirhossein Madadi joined Thompson & Lichtner in 2023 as our Director of Construction Materials Testing Laboratory. As such, he is responsible for our field and lab construction materials testing division. Mr. Madadi has earned both a BS and a Masters in Civil Engineering, and is now concluding his PhD at the University of Massachusetts Lowell where he holds the position of Instructor in the Engineering Materials Laboratory. His courses include topics such as testing, measurements, standards, and behavior of materials. While working as a Technical Assistant at the Modern Concrete Technology Laboratory at Hakim Sabzevari University, he administrated experimental studies in advanced concrete technology. A member of the American Concrete Institute, Mr. Madadi's professional background includes Lab Researcher, Teaching Assistant, and Project Manager for the Atin Beton Nita Company. He has had many of his writings published, including the book "Economic Analysis for Engineering and Project Management." Anne Heywood comes to T&L with a B.A. degree and business experience in private industry, state and federal government agencies, and overseas retail, in addition to an extensive background running her own successful businesses. Her working relationship with the Thompson & Lichtner Co. began over 40 years ago, and since then she has served in a multitude of positions including finance, human resources, and marketing development. For the past seven years she was the Assistant to the CEO, a position which included collaborating on decisions regarding business strategy and day-to-day operations. As the owner and CEO of the Thompson & Lichtner Co, Mrs. Heywood provides leadership and oversight of business operations including strategic planning, financial management, operations, marketing, and development and management of staff. Girum Retta

Girum Retta has been Thompson & Lichtner's Senior Construction Inspector since 1999 and was appointed Lab Supervisor in 2016. He provides inspection and testing services for a range of structural materials, including soils, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, bituminous concrete (asphalt), CMU wall construction, sprayed-on fireproofing, and bolting of structural steel. Mr. Retta has extensive experience performing tests in our laboratory and conducts a variety of non-destructive tests of construction materials. He has also participated in condition surveys of existing buildings. Among the projects for which Mr. Retta has provided inspection and testing services are Academy Homes II in Roxbury, North Andover High School, and Kendall Square Building A in Cambridge. Michael Vielmetti is the President of The Thompson & Lichtner Company, Inc. He joined the staff as a Field Engineer in 1973 following his graduation from Southeastern Massachusetts University. Since 1976, Mr. Vielmetti has focused on the weatherproofing of new, historic, and renovated building construction, conducting condition surveys and field inspections and installations. Mr. Vielmetti has extensive experience in field inspections involving roof systems and waterproof membranes, in addition to testing experience involving air infiltration and water penetration, and structural tests of windows in building facades of all types. His condition surveys of existing commercial/residential building facades have included complex combinations of materials, such as brick, terracotta, stone, wood, roof membranes, steel, masonry, and concrete.

Peter Dalton

Peter Dalton joined the Thompson & Lichtner Co. in 2007 as a Senior Weatherproofing Consultant. With over 40 years of experience in the waterproofing industry, Dalton coordinates inspections of building enclosures (including roofing and below grade waterproofing) and field inspections of all components of the exterior façade. Prior to joining T&L, Dalton was Project Manager for both a restoration company and a masonry and waterproofing company, responsible for as many as 20 projects at one time of both new and restoration construction, each with contract values up to $3M. Reza Foyouzi

Reza Foyouzi joined T&L in 2014 as a co-op student in T&L's weatherproofing department. He has since been involved in the evaluation of building enclosures and fenestration systems. In this role, he provides field testing of new and existing windows and curtain wall installations, including inspections of all weatherproofing components of existing and new commercial and residential buildings under construction. These tests include water and air infiltration testing based on methods established by American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) and American Architectural and Manufactures Association (AAMA), on preexisting buildings and new properties. Foyouzi also conducts smoke tests, wind uplift tests, and Electronic Roof Testing (ERT)/Vector Mapping. Prior to joining T&L Foyouzi was a Construction Inspector and Superintendent at Gabieline Construction Company where his responsibilities included observing weatherproofing installation and managing field operations to ensure that construction work was proceeding in accordance with the project plan..

Richard J. Keleher

Richard Keleher is our Senior Architect in charge of technical quality reviews for design and construction documents, currently on over $1 billion worth of heavy construction, office buildings, libraries, museums, hospitals, labs. Nationally known for his expertise on building enclosures and his role as creator of standard details and drafting conventions Keleher also provides creative technical support for early-stage integrated design. His areas of expertise include quality control of design and construction documents and the construction administration process, development of standard drawings, details, and specifications, as well as mentoring, motivating and training staff. He is also experienced in reviewing cladding designs and documentation for technical quality and completeness, designing cladding systems, and writing forensic reports based on evaluations in the field.

Robert T. Bearfield

Robert Bearfield has been a Construction Inspector and Laboratory Testing Technician since 1987. He provides clients with inspection and testing services for a range of structural materials, including cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, soils, asphalt, structural masonry, fireproofing, and other specialized testing such as proof load testing of anchor bolts, and pull testing of concrete topping and sure-fix coatings. Among the projects for which Mr. Bearfield has provided inspection and testing services are the Lafayette Corporate Center, Boston, Massachusetts; 3Com Corporation Marlborough Campus, Marlborough, Massachusetts; the Hilton Hotel at Logan Airport, Boston, Massachusetts; and plant inspections for highway/road repairs for the City of Boston. Mr. Bearfield has recently provided services to Harvard Law Norwest Corner Project, Cambridge, MA; the new West Office Building at the World Trade Center in Boston, the Meadowbrook School in Needham, Waltham Corporate Center, and Riverside Center in Newton. Mr. Bearfield also has one year of experience in the inspection of precast/pre-stressed concrete for the Central Artery/Tunnel project.
